What about enabling airplane mode and then enabling just WiFi?After turning cellular data off and locking the Iphone the wifi symbol vanished and i cant no longer receive any wifi calls. Not sure what can i do. Under ios 13 this never happens.
Unfortunately I don't seem to have a variety of those options for my AirPods, including the "Connect to This iPhone" one. Sounds like perhaps it's dependent on AirPods and/or iPhone model, which is a bit odd and unfortunate.Bluetooth-> “Your” AirPods

Or perhaps it might be related to that. Odd that the notification that appears at the top of the screen would be attached to that and not really controllable without it.Hmm no idea then. Maybe have to pair to multiple devices before that option exists??
So you have WiFi calling enabled (and know that it works), and if you turn on airplane mode and then enable just WiFi you see the WiFi connection and you see WiFi calling, but if you lock your phone both WiFi calling and WiFi disconnect and any calls or really any other notifications no longer come through at that point?i turned cellular data off with airplane mode then turning wifi on. only wrong description in my post. this means i cant receive emergency calls over wifi.![]()
If your iPhone and the AirPods support the device switching there should be one. Do you have more than one device logged into the same iCloud account?Unfortunately I don't seem to have a variety of those options for my AirPods, including the "Connect to This iPhone" one. It's a little unfortunate given that at least for certain widgets that makes them less useful, especially considering the old widgets would generally get refreshed when needed and be up to date.
I don't think I have more than one device logged into the same iCloud account. If your iPhone and the AirPods support the device switching there should be one. Do you have more than one device logged into the same iCloud account?
Breadcrumbs and switching between apps by pressing the upper left hand corner to go back to previous app is broken.
I tap on the previous app arrow and it takes me to a blurry screen of the Home Screen.
Is it just me?
Why is the huge weather widget so different from the small one and the data from the app inside? Mine shows that Thursday will be „moonly“ and thunderstorm at Saturday but inside the app it shows „sunny“ and rainy
I’m assuming they didn’t implement a check for multiple devices in the code but as a default behavior. That would’ve been a nice one though.I don't think I have more than one device logged into the same iCloud account.
That said, again, while that option might affect the connection banner that appears, it seems a bit odd that some option related to multiple connections and switching between devices would really control that when the connection banner appears even without any of that.
I have exhausted all testing options regarding the WiFi issue
The simple case is all iOS iPadOS and TVOS # 14 versions exhibit very slow at times speeds due to incredibly high jitter. 15-85ms. Other devices on the same network are 0.6ms.
Speed testing conducted over 5ghz and comparisons made to laptop devices with exactly the same testing parameters. Apple iOS products including Apple TV simply exhibit very high levels of jitter causing erratic stability and poor speeds
No interference and nothing to cause it, double verified that it doesn’t exist on other devices. Nothing wrong with the WiFi hardware either.
Also witnessed strange behaviour where it would flip between 2.4 and 5ghz for no reason. Yes I’ve isolated 5ghz and the jitter still exists.
Apple need to issue a fix
Like a clock widget for example. Pretty useless if it’s not constantly updated. May as well look at the icon that IS updated real time. It's a little unfortunate given that at least for certain widgets that makes them less useful, especially considering the old widgets would generally get refreshed when needed and be up to date.
Yes bad choice of wordsI can assure you that it is not a simple case that as you say "ALL", iOS iPadOS and TVOS # 14 versions exhibit very slow at times speeds due to incredibly high jitter. 15-85ms".
Mine certainly don't exhibit any of those issues on any of my devices running a mix of 14, 14.1 and a couple of betas>
Yes bad choice of words
I was referring to all devices on my network running #14 are exhibiting this issue.
Pre 14 devices and computers / laptops are all fine.
It's a little unfortunate given that at least for certain widgets that makes them less useful, especially considering the old widgets would generally get refreshed when needed and be up to date.
IMHO, with jitter that high and/or connections changing, you've got issues in your network. In no particular order,
Too many devices for the router or bandwidth
Poor ISP service/incoming connection
Combined 2.4 and 5.0 SIDs (causes more problems than it solves)
Bad cable/ethernet/connector somewhere along the line
Many others, but personally have strong doubts that your issues are IOS related
