iOS 14.4 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Using 14.4 rc seems not as smooth as 14.3 maybe slight animation coppyness, doesn’t feel as polished at all, not liking it so far
Battery life in 14.4 RC is terrible on my 12 pro max nearly on 30% in only a few hours
Hmm. From reading the posts, iOS14.4 seems to be:
- Smoother than iOS14.3, but not as smooth as iOS 14.3
- better battery life than iOS14.3, but not as good as iOS14.3

Right. Any update is **** if I can't purposefully avoid chargers and make it 36 hours without hitting 40%. WTF is Apple doing these days?

That should wait for a couple more days.
After a major change like RC, it generally takes a few days before your device settles into “normal” state.
What do you think the answer to that question is going to be?
And you've been running it for less than 24 hours. Give it a day or 2, then evaluate.
The battery on my iPhone 12 Pro Max is terrible on iOS 14.4 RC. My XS Max had better battery life just before I upgraded to the 12 Pro Max on launch day. I’m taking my 12PM of charge at 8am and having to put it on charge again at 8pm with light-medium usage. If things don’t improve with iOS 14.5 I’ll be looking at leaving the iPhone for a while. I had the 12 Pro Max specifically for the larger battery, but Apple just can’t seem to get battery life to a passable level on iOS 14 with the 12 series. There are hundreds of forum pages on the Apple forums from people suffering with shocking battery life on the 12 series iPhones.

The overall display speed of the device is better than beta2 however I am seeing small stutters especially after a reboot.
The existing bugs in Messages, Mail, Safari, and Reminders appear to still exist.
The Airpods jumping from 12PM to IPP11 at times still occurs.
Much more to come.

I don't think that those problems are on the Verizon network (except the slow 5g), I think those problems are in the 12 Pro.
I think so too. And I don’t think it’s going to show up in a Release Candidate after being absent from the entire 14.4 beta cycle.

With RC, listening to musical audio I can now hear a very noticiable difference between my Airpods Pro and B&O H5. With b1 and b2 there was a difference but not to this extent. Currently listening to Peter Buka.

Update: spoke too soon. The transition glitches on my 12PM are back today. Especially when swiping to leave an app. It’s very jarring and I’m surprised we’re at 14.4 without a fix. SMH.
