so my iPhone 12 Pro Max has been rebooting while charging with magsafe on 14.5 probably has been happening once a day now

Anyone all of a sudden getting eSIM failures? I had no issues until yesterday. I have a Verizon physical SIM and an AT&T eSIM and it seems the AT&T eSIM is failing and even taking out my Verizon SIM in the process. Thoughts?

I’m on 14.5 but I haven’t had a single app ask me for tracking permission. Is this something that won’t go into affect until the official 14.5 release or what?

Did you enable the setting to allow apps to ask you to track?

It's greyed out
Mine is not greyed out, and is enabled.
Yet Facebook that was already installed on the iPhone prior to installation of iOS 14.5 betas, did not prompt for tracking permission. Neither has any other app asked for permission for tracking.
Am I missing something.

IIRC, the iOS battery health not only measures the remaining capacity, but also takes into account highest voltage, average output voltage etc.

You can try Coconut Battery on the mac, it gives you the remaining capacity count.

The best way to check the max capacity is to check it out on the log file.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Go to Privacy>Analytics & Improements>Analytics Data.
  3. Go through the list of various log files saved here and find the “log-aggregated” file. The file name will be accompanied by a date. Find the file with the most recent date, and open it.
  4. You now need to search this file. Tap the share button at the top and send the file to yourself.
Once youhave the file transfered to your mac, search for the line
com.apple.ioreport.BatteryNominalChargeCountCapacity

Compare the number with the max capacity of your battery (simply check online what your iphone model battery capacity in mAh).

is it just me or with this beta the True Tone looks way less aggressive in indoor ambient?

I have been meaning to post this very same observation. I didn’t have a problem with it before but I did notice the screen is less warm overall.

Beta 4 got rid of the green tint for me though so I wasn’t sure if it was that or a less aggressive tt.

I find myself having to hold my 12 Pro Max a little farther away to use Face ID successfully (most of the time).

I don't have this named file in my iPhone.
What to do to generate that file?

i think it's related to the toggle "share iphone & watch data with apple". The log files are generated automatically overnight.

Wondering if anyone else has had this happen. Three times now on the last two betas I plugged in my phone at night it vibrates like it recognizes it is plugged in and I wake up to a dead phone. Apple charger on iPhone 12 pro max
What kind of charger? And are you using a MagSafe case? I have a 12 PM with a MagSafe case. I use Anker’s flip up charging stand. The phone will start to charge but invariably it stops charging. Works just fine if the case is not attached.
Nope. Apple fast charger. All Apple no case

So I noticed that when I upload pictures to Instagram from my iOS photo library and I don’t edit them or anything it’s creates two pictures in my iOS photo library? This started tj happen recently ? So it sure if beta 4 issues or IG app issues?

No settings were ch aged in IG and when I upload my picture I don’t edit them with filters m, I know if you edit them with a filter it saves edited copy to iOS photo library, but mine is saving exact same copy I upload to IG?

Maybe IG app needs to be updated for 14.5 or something? Any tips or tricks? I def didn’t have this issue in beta 3…

I had to delete 28 duplicates today and realized IG was at faulty here I would assume!

Optimised battery charging doesn’t work for me in this beta
Crap never works for me ! And I mean never. I seen it once in my life time

is your tracking completely turned off under privacy? If tracking is turned off, it just blocks all the apps and you don’t get a notification. I just have it completely off so no APP ever tracks me

It’s completely off but it doesn’t even give me the option to turn it on. It’s just greyed out

I have problems with some widgets with iPadOS 14.4.1. They always freeze or suddenly disappear. Restart doesn't help. The developers always say that it's Apple fault. I have no problems with the beta on my iPhone, but I've always had more issues on iPadOS. Do you think the latest beta could help here? And how's the battery life on the latest iPad Air?

Looks like the Mail bug from late in beta 3 is back in beta 4.
The unread count in Mail matched the badge and matched the account numbers however the actual unread inside the accounts didn’t match.

iCloud - 0 : 0
Exchange - 38 : 42
Gmail01 - 2 : 16
Gmail02 - 6 : 9
Gmail03 - 2 : 2

This started late in beta 3, went away with the beta 4 but is has returned.
Dag nammit!
