This beta seems to have broken my Alexa app. Mildly annoying.

Edit: Was also signed out of my Nest app but that one allowed me to sign back in. Alexa is still kaput.

New thing added (install security updates)

proof maybe A8/A8X/A9 devices won’t get iOS 15 and have security updates instead?

I think more likely it means that Apple can push critical security updates without needing to wait for a regular software release or creating a new one probably a lot easier to push out that way.

I assume he means iOS 14.5 beta 4 Ipsw file.
Yep.

I gave up and installed the profile and updated OTA.

Installing from a download ipsw is easier because I don't run betas all the time and it's faster than dealing with installing a profile. But it was broken this time. Oh well. :)

can you be more specific? I literally have not had 1 issue. 2014 MBP. Is it related to specific applications? oopsie, posted to wrong forum. as Rosanna Rosanna Dana used to say: "Nevermind"

I recommend going back and reading the beta 3 thread. Try Post 292 for my latest issue. First time in several betas I was having consistent issues with Exchange.

Beta 4 on 12ProMax and IPP 11 2020

Trying to trouble shoot but I am seeing wifi issues on both. erratic intermittent drops of data up. My Thinkpad and MB are doing fine with no issues.

SMS/MMS forwarding from my 12PM to my IPP 11 still seeing the intial forward only. No status, read, or release updates. SMS/MMS sent from the iPad (including iMessage) are showing as new unread with badges on the 12PM and vice versa.

Will be doing some low light camera tests at 2.5 to see if the detail blur in the Camera app is still present.

The unread count mismatch in Mail seems to be fixed.

Many sites in Safari are loading slow but I am wondering if that is tied to the intermittent wifi issue. Will test with LTE/5G later.

Recently Added in App Library has changed listed apps like the last 3 betas. The listed apps are not the last 8 installed.

Top three in App Library foldersd are frequently not the top 3 in that category used.

Since the update today, my AW4 on 7.3.2 and linked to my 12PM is burning through battery fast. About 10% an hour.

IPP 11 - Messages, have seen a couple of times where there is no text entry field on opening. Switching between threads brings it back on screen.

IPP 11 with MK - Messages - tapping in the text field will frequently cause the onscreen keyboard to launch when connected to the MK.

Airpods Pro will not autoconnect to IPP 11. Have to go into CC or Settings and manually trigger. Connect automatically to 12PM.

Reported all bugs but wifi. Still digging into that one.

More coming soon …

12 ProMax
Camera.
In beta 3 I was seeing an issue with blurring/watercoloring for low light shots under the 2.5 lens/setting. This did not occur for other camera apps like Halide.

So I am testing under beta 4 and ran into this little gem.
Camera. In low light, 2.5, the camera is overexposing the photo. Reminds me of ProRaw in low light. You can see what it looks like in Halide focused (right) in comparison.

Which brings me to another for Halide - app may need an update.
At 12” in low light at 2.5, AF does not work. I can manually select the focus point and then it will focus in. Did not have this issue in beta 3.

So far it looks like the watercoloring of the Camera app at 2.5 in low light has been fixed. Still doing a bit more testing.

Is New Years Day celebrated in Australia every year on January 2nd?
Got a feeling a event might not happen this month, can’t see apple holding a event for iPads, air tags and Apple TV. 🤔

Hope I’m wrong though.

I don’t think that the Youtube stutter on 60fps videos is ever going to go away… I just had tue beta 4 installed on my 12pm, does seem to feel snappier.. we’ll see in time, I’ll also keep track of the FaceID performance, beta 3 was so bad I turned off the attention feature
