iOS 14.5 Beta 4 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I guess it really depends on your apps.

I use it for my daily driver for both phone and watch (See signature).

I did it mainly for the "Mask ID" for unlocking.

I have to wear a mask a lot of the time and the "Mask ID" has been well worth it.

I know, but I have found that whenever iOS beta and macOS beta are released together, it helps to have overlapping information in threads so that people know that the other beta was also released. Often times there are members who ask if macOS was released and what build number it is at now, so if someone has not posted it already before I do, I post that information.

microsoft authenticator work? that's the main app i cant live without right now.

Try and watch any 60fps video on YouTube. On my phone (12pm) even on the non-beta versions every minute or less the video stutters/frame drops for 1 to 5 seconds. It might fluctuate but once seen is really annoying, I mainly spend my time on yt.
I reported on the Feedback app and apparently there were more than 10 reports and “a possible fix in future os update”..(on beta 2) nothing yet though.. I read on the internet and it’s because of a codec that’s used on newer ios devices (vp9 vs acv1).
can anyone with iph12 replicate?

Running 14.5 betas on my 12 Pro Max and my Apple Watch 5. Had no issue on either device on beta 3 and none so far on beta 4.

Had one minor issue, maybe isolated. Using iCloud mail it got stuck at 1 unread msg when everything was read. Had to kill the app and reboot to get it to go away.

I control my home lighting among other things with the Alexa app as well. Glad to report that there are no issues with my setup which is iPhone 12 Pro Max and 14.5 BETA 4
 
Ny issue with wireless CarPlay is back.
Phone and head unit shows connected to WiFi and have no internet

I have T-Mobile as well and 2 lines (eSIM + Physical SIM). I had the issue you mentioned in Beta 2 and Beta 3. I believe that it may have been resolved with this Beta for me. It has been a little over 24 hours and I have not seen the drop however will continue to monitor. One thing to note that I was able to go to Settings ➔ Cellular and then the signal would drop on both lines and then back again. I could duplicate this behavior if go to Cellular in at one out three times. I haven't been able to do that, yet, after this current Beta.

12PM and IPP 11

I have tried every app on both devices and all have launched and apparently work.
All of my financial apps work including those with FaceID as a login option.

Battery - so far
IPP11 - battery seems the same as beta 3
12PM - battery is less than beta 3 - by this time I am usually at 70% area however with this beta I am at 43%. See how it goes over the next couple of days.
AW4 (non beta linked to 12PM) - A reboot of the AW4 seems to have helped with the battery. Still a bit heavy dropping about 5% an hour.

Wifi - still having sporadic data up drops.

5G/LTE - all is good and pretty much the same as beta 3

Hey guys! I have an iPhone 11 Pro, which had an almost perfect battery life all the way up to beta 2 of iOS 14.5 was released. Has anyone else been experiencing abnormally high battery drain since beta 2?

Youtube app have problem with stuttering introduced in version 16.05.07 but they fixed on version 16.08.2 and some users have still problem with 60fps video.
Its not related issue with IOS its just optimizing (in app) google just need to fix it.

I use Voice to enter a lot of my Messages and Notes and am finding that it has degraded with this beta (4). I am seeing a greater than usual number of transcription errors. - 12 ProMax.

Guys, is anyone experiencing a loss of swipe to answer for incoming calls?

when I get a call, I have only the tap to answer.
