The worst modem ever. On my iP12 MAX pRO I have 8-10 times slower speeds LTE then iPhone XS on T-mobile. 80-100mbps vs 8-15 mbps. Before I had 5G NSA, now it is disappeared. Such a step back. I know - this is beta.
I have read multiple T-Mobile users having big issues with beta 4. I think it was a bad carrier/modem update for you guys.

I can't find the section you're indicating. Under "Privacy," I have Location Services, Tracking, a detailed list of functions and apps, and then Analytics and Advertising. No "System Services."
I think he meant system services under location services. I’ve checked mine, but only the ones I had turned on previously were active. Nothing has changed from before.

Just discovered a new bug or glitch: A couple of my widgets stacks seem to get semi-stuck. A tap will open the currently visible app, but I can't swipe through to others or press-and-hold to edit the widget. Don't know if it's related to one of the apps/widgets or a system issue, but a restart solves it temporarily. I have it on two widgets but not a third, which leads me to believe it could be an app issue.

System Services is at the bottom of the Location Services page.
I fixed my original post. Thanks for the catch!

This usually doesn't change. I was surprised. I caught this as I have "Find my iPhone" off and manually turn it back on for beta testing then turn it back off. When I went and looked, all the switches were on.

Thanks. So Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services. Got it. And, no, mine aren't all turned on. I think they're still at whatever toggles I set months and months ago.

I had an odd bug somewhat similar to this on beta 3 where my Face ID got reset (the passcode was still active), and I had to rescan my face lol

Widgets
12ProMax and IPP11

Not seeing any changes to Widgets. For the most part they are static and require some type of manual interaction to show the current information - usually have to open the app.

Installed this one yesterday and during the night Exposure Notification has gone rampant on my phone. After installing it on my iPhone 12 Pro Max my battery dropped from 87% to 27%. I installed it around 18:30 CET and when waking up at 07:30 CET I had lost 60% battery and it claims Exposure Notification was to blame for over 70% of the battery drain.

Digging through the battery statistics it claims that Exposure Notification was to blame for 100% of the battery drains at several points during the night. This is far more excessive than normal.

I'm not sure how to read these statistics. Obviously when checking specific hours during the night my phone is not in use so if there is nothing else going on during the hours I'm checking and nothing on my phone is draining battery at all while Exposure Notification is draining just a tiny bit it will still be the cause of 100% of the battery drain during that specific time frame. So 100% can look far worse than it turely is.

But my phone doesn't tend to drain 60% from 18:30 CET to 07:30 CET. I didn't even use my phone during the evening, it was just used for the updating and nothing else as I was busy working on my computer without using the phone at all. Something seems to make my Exposure Notification go rampant since the latest update.

If I check for the past 24 hours Exposure Notification is at 46% and considering it's averaging at about 70% after the update and it was 13 hours from me updating before I noticed the severe battery drain this morning it means that my 24 hour average on Exposure Notification would normally be much lower over 24 hours than it currently is as a result of the average of 70% the past 13 hours is also skewing the 24 hour average quite a bit.

Is anyone else noticing Exposure Notification going rampant on their device?
Exposure Notifications is using about 3% per day on my 12PM

this stable enough to jump aboard?
Beta 4 and before that Beta 3 have been very stable for me. I've seen a few minor bugs, none of which make me regret installing the betas. So I'm happy I installed it. But not everyone's experience has been as positive as mine.

I use Voice to enter a lot of my Messages and Notes and am finding that it has degraded with this beta (4). I am seeing a greater than usual number of transcription errors. - 12 ProMax.

That's disappointing.

Could it be a server issue rather than a device/iOS issue?

12 ProMax ...

Something to check.
After this update, I found in Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services - everything was turned on except Status Bar Icon.

Definitely different than beta 3 was setup for and has been a few betas since I have seen this "turn all on" issue.

Reported via Feedback.
Installing b4 didn't change any of my system services location services settings.

Wasn't sure of the best place to post this. I have a new iPhone delivering this afternoon. I'm on the beta on my current phone and am not against putting it on the new one. Is it a case of setting up the new iPhone as new, downloading the beta, and then going through the "erase all content/settings and restore from a backup of the current phone" process? If it's not a pain in the neck to do, I'll do that today. If it's a pain, I might just wait until the official release comes out (next week, hopefully?) and set up the phone at that point.

I'm not really in any hurry to set up the new phone, so if waiting until the official release comes out is the best option, that would be fine!

That’s correct. You’ll need to set up the new phone and install the beta profile, download the latest beta, then reset and erase the phone, and then restore it from backup or do the direct transfer option during setup (best way IMO). Or just wait until the public version is released.

Got it, thanks! I figured that's how it would go, but can never be too sure!

The worst modem ever.

So bad I had my fastest ever Speedtest yesterday ;).

I think it (the bug) was likely introduced as part of the work done on implementing the call banner for when the phone is unlocked since that was a new feature for 14 and that’s when the inconsistency started. I’m sure they’ll get around to fixing it eventually 🙃
Speaking of the call banner, there's a bug that was introduced in iOS 14 in which if you answer a call using the banner, face detection stops working so you'll be inputting all kinds of things into your phone when you hold it to your ear to talk.

I had to disable the call banner because of this. Anyone know if this bug has been fixed? It's been a while after all.

Yeah, I dislike that others are having issues but I’ve been plagued with problems since I got the 12 Pro with Verizon. I was starting to think it would be like that forever. Thankfully with beta 4 I see a huge stability increase with calls.

I answered a call earlier from the call banner and didn’t notice this issue (on iPhone 11, on 14.4.1). But then, I don’t recall coming across this issue at any point since I first updated to iOS 14.
