My only Bluetooth is a JBL Flip 5 that gets turned off and on and it’s had no issue connecting. Hopefully more people keep contacting Apple and make them aware of this battery issue.
These threads pop up every single year.
Do you not think you’re just using it more, hence the battery appearing to drain faster?
Big battery drain for me on an X, yesterday and today. Will see in a few days.
If everyone waits with the best solution then there will be no masses updating. There’s so many factors involved in the overheating and battery issues you people are having. Best solution is to go back to iOS 13.7. never Download the first iteration Of a major update. Wait. Especially if you have an older phone. And let the masses report back on any issues before you take the plunge. I have no sympathy for you
Are you doing a clean install and then using it without any apps. If you’re reinstalling all your apps and one of them is the culprit then the clean install isn’t going to make much difference. My iphone XS max is heating up like crazy after ios 14 update. Needless to say, battery life is also severely affected. However, wife's XS max and daughter's XR arent affected. I clean install 2 times but with similar results. While on 13.7, the only time the phone will get this level of hotness is a badly written app that is causing it. Now, i turn on the screen and heat will start to generate.![]()
I’ll be the first to say it it looks like iOS 14 isn’t doing too well with battery life on my SE 2020. I haven’t changed any of my settings from before the update but in the span of 30 minutes I lost 8% battery.
All I was on was Health, Settings (to look at what’s eating my battery) and Safari. For some reason Mail is now always running in the background and I can’t figure out how to stop it.
Almost none of my apps background refresh.

I talked to Apple Support today...They recommended turning it off and back on again. So far that hasn’t seemed to really help. They gave me a case number and said if it’s still doing this Saturday night/Sunday to get back with them.

Mine too. Back to 13.7 for now. Got back about 1.2 gig memory too on my iPhone when I reinstalled instead of installing over each version.
My SE 2020 was sitting at 50% and went down to 25% in about 3 hours, all I did was answer a few texts.
I restored to 13.7 and it seems my battery life is back to normal now.
