My battery has taken a noticeable hit on my 11Pro and Air3. My S5 Apple Watch isn’t doing all that great with watchOS7 either.

The first day after updating my battery life was terrible. I’m sure it was due to iOS doing tons of things in the background. It appears to be back to normal and it seems no different from what it was on 13.7.

My battery on my SE 1st gen, XS and 2020 iPP 11" is about the same as it was before.
My S4 Apple Watch on watchOS 7 is using just a little bit more battery, but I've done a few workouts with the watch this week. I think if I'm not doing a workout for a day, it would be the same either. So I can't say it's worse.

iPhone 11. Can't honestly say I've noticed any difference to none honest...which is good I suppose as battery life was good before iOS 14 anyway.

I posted this in the iOS 14 thread, but 11 Pro battery has taken a hit for me. 2 hours of usage went from 100% to 66%, where usually I'd land at around 80%. There is steady drain even when phone is inactive. The background usage in the morning was caused by Mail, even though I don't have any accounts set up for it. Now trying iOS 14.2 beta to see if it's better.

HORRIBLE!

I got this SE2 45 days ago. After the iOS14, the battery health drop to 99%... I mean, I put the charger at 20% when it's needed (passing days if not necessary)... jut two time has go beyond 15% in a call.

But here I share a photos how worst its going on.
The Saturday under 13.7 gives me with 80% of usage 6:15hrs (even I got a day with 7hrs)... then I installed the iOS14 in the early morning of Wednesday (download in the night) and I start to get this horrible numbers.

Look a Thursday: 80% of battery usage and 3h18, then yesterday 5hrs14 with less of 80% (I put the charger at 25%)... so common... how it's possible my battery health drop to 99% in 45 days taking care of it, and using th phone always between 20-25%.

I would love to come back to 13.7...

By the way, I haven't push email, deactivated motion, fixed brightness, turn off vibrations (juts in silence), notification have been carefully set by apps, background apps turned off almost everything, just for messaging and Privacy, almost everything it's turned off. Just SOS and find my phone.
All that since I got the phone, and 13.7 gives me the best battery performance.

Ok, so I charged the phone overnight, took it off the Charger at 9:14 this morning and right now it's at 44%. It's an Iphone XR with 90% battery health. Maybe that is normal now. (And I was listening to music and also browsing various things like firefox and reddit) Getting 7 hours is still ok, even though I thought it was more.

I’m using iPhone 11 Pro. My battery is noticebly shorter than 13.7. I can see the % going down with me doing anything. Also in my iPad Pro. 😔😔😒😒

Not sure if it's all in my head, but I feel like my battery goes down a little quicker than on 13.7 on my iPhone 11 Pro.
Updated OTA. I usually do a full restore and set up as new with iTunes, but I don't have the time for that right now.

Been a day but iOS 14.2 seems better than iOS 14.0, only down to 75% with 2 hours usage off charger. Still worse than iOS 13 though.

As many have said, when we get a major update we are spending more time on the phone to see all the new whistles and bells. You might not realize that you are using your phone more. Also check Settings>General>Background App Refresh to see what apps are selected. After an update, many apps that you had deselected are selected again. This can cause extra battery drain albeit not a lot but still!!
I’m having great battery usage (iPhone 11 Pro Max). Also my watch Series5 and iPad Pro 3rd Gen 12.9 all getting great battery usage after the latest updates

I'm wondering which widgets people are using and whether that's having an impact on battery life? I currently only have the calendar, weather, battery, and Things 3 widgets and seeing worse than iOS 13 battery life. What widgets are people using and is your battery doing worse?

better battery life than iOS 13 so far

everyone getting worse battery life: you're using your iPhone more because iOS 14 has new features. give it a few weeks before you can even judge it.

I’ll be the first to say it it looks like iOS 14 isn’t doing too well with battery life on my SE 2020. I haven’t changed any of my settings from before the update but in the span of 30 minutes I lost 8% battery.
All I was on was Health, Settings (to look at what’s eating my battery) and Safari. For some reason Mail is now always running in the background and I can’t figure out how to stop it.
Almost none of my apps background refresh.

This reminds me of the 14 year old boy who is convinced that by shaving every day his beard will grow in faster. It doesn’t of course, but every day he gets older, and he doesn’t understand that the reason his beard is growing is that he’s aging.

Your battery is getting older every day which is probably what you’re seeing, if anything.

Backup your devices to iCloud, iMac, MacBook, or Windows PC and then execute a full system restore. This should resolve your issue.

My wife and I are on vacation. We both had our iPhone 11 pros in the same bag all day at the pool and didn’t touch them. At night mine with iOS 14 was at 18% and hers with iOS 13 was at 76%.

I noticed both the rapid battery drain and overheating. One day I was out in the garage taking a photo, and it went into thermal shut down. As a beta tester, I was a bit surprised when it was released. Sometimes I feel like I'm a scientist of entomology.

On my iPad Pro 2018 my impression is that battery life is a little worse. Consumption seems more linear though. On iOS 13 battery would stay at 100% for a long time, but now it drops much faster.

On my iPhone XR, my phone would die at 20% after I updated to one of the latest betas. Did a reset when the final version of iOS 14 was out, but it didn't fix the issue. Noticed the phone would stay at 99% when charging. After a couple hours it reached 100% and all is well now. Battery seems the same on my iPhone.

Well it’s Sunday and battery consumption is a little better now but it’s still worse than it was in 13.7 For any late comers to the thread I was in quarantine last week before and after the update. I couldn’t leave the master bedroom and be in contact with the rest of the family so my phone was used to watch Hulu and read he news etc.
I had the same usage patterns with the same apps before and after the update since the update fell in the middle of my quarantine. The battery life is definitely worse after the update.
I’m going to have my wife wait to update her phone. We’ll see if the next update fixes the battery issue.
