I've been running the 14.3 beta to see if there is any improvement to the iPhone 7's battery life. Spoiler: my iPhone 7 with a brand new Apple-replaced battery chewed through 21% battery with 22 minutes of minimal use and about 18 hours on standby.

It is obvious that Apple optimizes iOS versions for their newest devices while performance on older devices is degraded. Apple gets to have their cake and eat it too - they're able to claim iOS updates support old devices for a long time, but at the same time the performance suffers enough that users give up and buy a new one.
50% 1 hour minimal use yesterday. 2 time open page fb sometimes telegram just that.. battery health 99%. WTF going on ?

IOS 14.3 is a battery sucker. Thanks Apple. I've seen the screenshots of battery use that look like the 90 meter ski jump that Eddie the Eagle used in the Olympics. What a joke.

I’m still on 14.0.1 on my 11Pro and getting phenomenal battery life. Only updated from iOS 13 for PiP. I think I will keep it for as long as possible.

I have an iPhone 6S and battery life is terrible on 14.2 and 14.3. 14 was ok. New battery too.

Did you notice your battery health dropping fast after the new battery install? I only got about 2 weeks of use before my new 6s battery dropped to 97%.

The picture below shows my situation. I updated my 8+ from 14.1 to 14.3 just a few days ago. On 14.1 I had no issues. Yesterday, for the first time since when I bought my first iPhone in 2010, the battery reached 0% and the phone died. The battery health is 87% and iOS says that this provides optimal performances.

With some apps I literally see the percentage going down about 1% every few seconds.

Of course resetting to factory settings did nothing.

I reported the issue to Apple. Curiously, 14.3 was not selectable among the OSs, I wonder whether this is normal...

My first version ipp 12.9 is on 14.0.1 and the battery is *finally* crazy good on it. 5 years old and I get about 4-6 hours on it.

My 12 max just went from 100% at bed time and 8 hours later it still showed 99%. I am staying on 14.3 fir a while and will enjoy great battery life!

I had the same issues on my 11 Pro Max, roll back to 14.2 while it is still being signed.

It’s on 98%. I wouldn’t worry, it may drop a percent or two.

I think there is definitely a bug with 14.3. Lots of people complaining on the Apple dev forums.

I was a little surprised it dropped so soon after replacement. Maybe it was on a shelf for a little before installation. It lasts much longer than the original, however.

I created a post before with some suggestions to fix this. However, it seems that this bug is mostly related to 4G and to Safari/Chrome. I've tried many things, but I think that 50% of battery gone in 1h isn't normal at all. I mean, my battery is still in good shape and then I have this absolute nonsense that is brought by freaking 14.3.

EDIT: I’ve noticed however one thing. The spinning wheel next to the WiFi symbol seems to me almost always active since the update. Or at least much more. Also when opening Safari the battery just dropped 10% in 2 minutes. Turning the iPhone off and on again seems to have increased the battery in 7%.

I couldn't help but notice that 31% of the battery-consuming activity goes into the phone searching for a network connection (nessuna copertura cella). This is a lot, IMHO. Could it be that you live in an area with poor network coverage? the iPhone searching for a network signal is known to cause battery drain.

That isnt a single charge! Learn to read diagrams! It is barely 6 hours. You cant calculate sot like that: you discharged it around 9pm, that is when you can calculate sot. Then you started to charge it from 9pm and used it during charge. And you calculate all that in ONE charge. LOL!!
Go to last 10 days and check real sot. Jesus...

All my battery logs are on a single ONE charge. Roughly been getting 12-13 hours easily on a Pro Max model. Numbers don’t LIE.
