My issue was and it's unfortunate for the new SE is that it falls under this older phone bracket even though it's only 6 months old
You're right; I guess I didn't think about the 2nd gen SE being a recent model. Maybe there is still hope for a fix since they're still selling a model that (according to the collective experiences on this thread) only gets about 2-2.5 hours of screen usage per charge.

iPhone 11 Pro not much different. 60% or so with 13.7, now I finish the day with 10% or so.
my 11pro experience with WFH during pandemic: [charge every other night, optimized charging]

13.3: 50-60% at end of 2 days of use (projects to about 10 hrs screen time)
13.7: 40-50% at end of days of use (projects to about 8 hours screen time)
14.1: 20-30% af end of 2 days of use (projects to about 6 hours screen time)

the one thing that did not change was about 5% battery drop overnight (phone sitting 8-10 hrs without being touched)

This issue is really exacerbated by us being locked into iOS updates. I have also been considering a Pixel 5 (or an SE 2020 with iOS13). This may end up being the return to Android after 5 years with iOS haha.

Wow. I'm glad I stayed on 13.3 but I'm going to hate the day when I need to change out the battery. I'm going to try to find a way to keep it on the same iOS but Apple makes you sign a form.

Clearly this is an ongoing issue.

Edit: I would encourage trying to see what happens with bluetooth off (not that it's a fix since I need BT quite a bit).
I'm normally charging my phone by 12pm (under 20%) but I'm at 60% at 3:30pm. That's with background sync and mail sync on.

When and if this will be fixed is another story.

So I always charge my phone overnight but last night it was flat towards bedtime, I stuck it on charger and before bed was fully charged so took it off charger, went to bed 100%, woke up 6 hours later 78%, seems high as it was just sitting idle 6 hours, is that normal?

Anything showing up under battery usage during that time?

Just want to let you know that I have the same issue. For me nothing shows up in the battery stats and my battery health is at 89 % (iPhone X).

Definitely something to do with Bluetooth. Used the phone pretty hard yesterday and you can see exactly when I turned Bluetooth on.

Yesterday I saw the post about Bluetooth too, so I turned it off to see if would make a difference. The only Bluetooth connection my iPhone has is with my Watch S3. I did not notice any improvement in the phone's battery life.

Perhaps you mileage is different because of Bluetooth headphones/audio.

Good point. I will test today with my pebble watch only. My specific issue may be blutooth audio.

I tried turning off bluetooth, doesn't fix my drain at least. Maybe drains a bit slower but still much faster compared to 13.7.

13.3 gave me battery life that was out of this world. i'm not a heavy user, so 14.1 still works ok for my usage, but it's a massive come down after what i experienced in 13.3. my usage patterns haven't changed and i've observed this over a enough time to know there is a real drop in battery performance between the different iterations of iOS. just hoping they will at least get things closer to 13.7 in the next few versions of ios14.

switching from 5ghz wifi to 2.5ghz fixed my idle battery drain. was getting -20% battery drain overnight on 5ghz. switched over to 2.5ghz and battery drain was -4%

hope they can fix this in the next update.

its weird because on my ipad i dont notice a problem with battery drain connecting to my 5ghz wifi

4% is also a lot. Usually, my phone would not drain more than 1% during the night. I'm talking about iOS versions that do not drain.

Were you getting this drain even with WiFi off?

I did the whole restore and erase Iphone yesterday and it did seem to improve the battery life. I still don't need to upgrade from the XR to the new phone this year. I also think it's for the best because 5G is still in it's infancy.

recharged my phone to full last night about 12hrs ago, now its 98% so closer to 2%.

i'm usually on wifi most of the day so dont know about the battery drain off wifi. i might take if off wifi and see how it goes.

I had previously reset the settings to see if that would improve matters. Unfortunately, I forgot to turn off automatic app updates after doing so. Consequently, an app that I was avoiding updating, because it has been ruined in the new version, has now been updated and ruined. This is rather annoying, to say the least.

iOS 14 seems to have calmed down on standby drain. 0% drain on OG SE overnight after swapping out the battery.

My wife’s phone updated to 14.1 overnight. I checked and so far the last day and a half her battery has been ok.
