I don't have iOS 14 on my phone but I read somewhere there's a setting to "automatically" putting video on PIP or something like that, that way, I think a single swipe up would work. Maybe I'm wrong but it worth checking out.

Thanks! It looks like the setting is actually turned on automatically. I could swear that I'd tried it from the full screen video already, but when I did it again just now, it worked! So that's great.

Also, I just discovered that if you swipe it to the side of the screen, it sort of 'docks' it so that it's out of view but with a little arrow to pull it back out. Kinda neat.

Maybe I'm blind but where is the app list view on the ipad? I can't find this on my Air 2 as well as the ability to put widget directly on the home screen ?

Unfortunately ipad was not given the majority of the highlighted redesign features
No widgets (in the way iphone does)
No App library
No list view
No hiding home screens
No translation app
(Still no calc app hehe)

Damn I just deleted a bunch of stuff of my iPad Air 2 just so I could install it. Seems then most of the stuff is for iPhone mostly

Gotta say though. Google email and calendar still smokes iOS. They look so good especially with the dark modes. Can’t believe Apple still can’t give us a month view in the calendar like google does. I hate when google does IOS apps better than Apple. Just no excuse for that.

Yes, using widget kit. It’s a bit of a regression though - they can’t be interactive.

great. There goes the idea of a nice app launcher.

Go to Wi-Fi settings and click the information for the network you’re connected to. You can set a private address for your device. I assume that means every time you connect to that network, your device uses a different MAC address so the network can’t track you between uses. Very cool

Edit: It looks like it gives you a unique MAC address for that network but it doesn’t change each time you connect. So I guess this gives you protection from being tracked between different networks.

What a disappointment. I thought calling it iPadOS would mean more features and love for the ipad, but it turn out its just feels like iOS 13.7. There's practically nothing really new or worth it on this update for the iPad, even no new keyboard shortcut for system sound or brightness...

As I suspected, I believe free space was the issue. Isn't IOS smart enough to report when you don't have enough free space to install? I freed up some space and it appears to be in the process of installing, now. I thought the 6 or seven gb I had would be enough. Does ios 14 use considerably more space than 13, or does it need more free space to install?

Thanks
When I put it on my SE2020 it had like 32/64 free, and after it installed it said it needed to recover. Once that was done, it had 14. My wife's 11PM had less free, but it didn't need to do the recover thing. It just had 14. For the first version of an iOS, it probably needs much more space since it is pretty much starting from scratch.

I'm already 46% so I'll drain it quick and report.
Looks like it might be borderless now and the font is a little different.

What do you mean? iOS Calendar has a month view, even a year view.

My Bank App, BDO is reporting my device as jailbroken hence cannot open the app.

I’m a simple guy

I love everything that Apple has done on iOS 14 and everything they’ve added, but man would I have LOVED a Clear All button on the app switcher and a Download all button on the Apple Music library for all songs😔

It’s not the same. Try googles. You’ll see.

Ugh - that sucks. This should’ve been turned into a banner notification.

Updated the first post wiki to note some interesting settings for Phone and Siri (in response to a bunch of posts that had questions on these topics)

Some answers to questions people had:

Settings | General | Picture in picture: setting to “Start PiP Automatically” when you swipe up, for FaceTime calls and videos

Settings | Phone | Incoming Calls: select banner or full screen

Settings | Siri & Search | Siri Feedback: new options to always show Siri captions and always show speech

To hide home screen pages: make sure you are in wiggle mode, then press the “page indicator” (the dots above the dock)

Changing widget configuration: for now looks like you have to remove the widget then add it back

Adding widget: in wiggle mode, press the + in the upper left

New app features: back button in upper left of many apps - press and hold to pick how far back to go (through the whole hierarchy). Tried, and automatically added to an app I wrote when recompiled for ios 14.

Settings > General > About

now shows Network Provider Lock status. Mine shows No SIM restrictions.
I was looking for that in phone settings :)
