I’m curious to what’s causing it but on this beta, both my Barclays app and Pokemon Go assume I’m jailbroken and not working.
It‘s not unheard of that app developers whitelist OS versions, especially in the banking sector. You can‘t risk an app crashing during crucial actions.

They usually wait for a GM before they whitelist their app for the new versions.

I wonder why Apple haven't implemented a number of the features on iPadOS... Would be good if we got more of the iPhone new functionality...

yeah Barclays is the same for me and Starling Bank won't open at all.

Bank apps normally has security features that prevents jailbroken phones from using their app. I assume since it's a bank app, there's nothing much we can until iOS 14 is officially released. Had similar problem when I installed the first beta of iOS 13.

After a good night's sleep and using the phone again this morning I wanted to post a summary of how I've found iOS 14 so far. tldr Amazing.

There is no comparison at all to the first iOS 13 betas. In fact, there's pretty much no comparison at all to all the stock iOS 13 versions. iOS 14 beta 1 is stable. Sure, some functionality could be improved, but I've not had any major glitches. I'm loving the widgets, and performance on my iPhone 11 64GB is as good as iOS 13 was.

A post above said Mail still wasn't working, and got lots of agreements. For me, I had many notification issues with Mail on iOS 13, but having to pull down to refresh wasn't one of them. In iOS 14, *all* my Mail issues seem to be fixed. I couldn't swipe to clear a notification on an individual mail without it clearing all the new mail notifications. Now I can. My first new mail notifications each day (after turning the phone on) would come in silently, now they don't and work perfectly. This is with an IMAP mail provider.

Little bugs I've had all throughout iOS 13 (such as the ringer volume being reduced to match my media playback volume each time I ended a speaker call) have been fixed.

The only app I've tried to use so far that's failed, is the UK Metrobank app. It thinks the phone has been tampered with and won't launch. To be fair, they're correct! I've tweeted them but it doesn't surprise me that banking apps aren't comfortable on a first dev beta.

I have a "backup/travel" iPhone 6S that I'd love to update but at the moment I'm keeping it on the latest iOS 13 beta as I need the banking apps to work.

Summary: For a first beta, everything new seems to work and performance is very good. I'm not a developer, I just like the excitement of new things, and I'm happy I updated my main phone. If you're gonna ask "Can this be used as a daily driver?" I'd say yes, with the caveat you may lose a banking app or two.

Can I report bugs and suggestions now without being a developer? Or could Apple lock my Apple ID? That’s the reason why I’m using the beta, also for trying new features.

I couldn't log in to Fortnite. With the account already logged in I could play, switching accounts was not possible (error at login screen)

Edit: Works now

so no new font? i was hoping SF Compact (AW font) would come to iOS. that’s gonna be the biggest thing i’m going to miss about JB, it looks super cool

apart from that ios 14 is just all JB tweaks 😂

This is definitely better than most other first betas of major iOS versions.

The most annoying bug I’ve encountered so far is adding a widget to a stack seems to delete random apps from my home screen (not from the device, they are still there in the App Library). Rearranging the home screen is a pain at the best of times, but I’m just going to leave it how it is now. Apple really need a mode maybe in Settings where you can drag and drop apps/swap apps from different pages in a bird’s eye view; the ‘wiggle mode’ hasn’t scaled well with time.

It’s early days, but I’m enjoying it thus far. Minor quirks but nothing show stopping. It’s not a massive release, but probably has the single largest change since iOS 7 (a rethink of the Home Screen), so it does seem very fresh.

Yes. This has always worked - there's a Feedback app. I think Apple are aware non-developers acquire profiles and install dev betas because we're, umm I mean they're, impatient :)

I've never managed to file any sort of feedback in the app without being a registered dev. Haven't even been able to log in to the app.

Gonna reset that iPhone a weeks later when the public beta cames out.

I can log in into the Feedback App. It looks a bit different.

This makes sense as every year it is certain banking apps that don’t function during the betas. Banks definitely need nearly 100% uptime, so don’t disagree with their approach.

Well there has been that minor global pandemic going on that might have something to do with it!

That is awesome to hear. I know you had a suboptimal experience on iOS 13. Apple did its job apparently!

iOS 14 is really stable and battery life is awesome!! I feel like this is service pack on top of iOS 13 more than iOS 14 completely redone or something!!!

My boss offered me access to his beta account to download ios 14 since he has a dev program. Is it safe to do so or can he snoop in my phone?
Wow 😳
