The night has been quieter than on beta 2. How was yours?

Mine was not bad but ...
Why does, under Battery Usage by App, Mail say "2%, Connected to Charger, Notifications"?
What does Connected to Charger have to do with battery usage?

Ok the keyboard and text Input Field disappearing doesn’t seem to be an Messages only issue.

Try swiping instead of tapping the „back“ button in the top left corner to go out of a conversation and back to the contact list. Next you go back in any conversation and the keyboard and text Input Field will be gone. Happens on WhatsApp for me too!
...

Seeing this in Messages. Usually it comes back if I select another thread but not always.

Not as good, just as Haptic Touch is overall not as good as 3D Touch. That said, when you use Haptic Touch to activate cursor control from the spacebar, you can lift your finger from the spacebar and move it up on the keyboard before you start moving the cursor, as long as you do it right after Haptic Touch activates basically.
I use iPad a lot recently but space bar replacement is still feeling inferior. But since force touch is a thing of the past,
I guess everyone eventually will need to move on one way or another.

Usage while the phone is plugged in will have less impact on battery life. For example, 20 minutes of web browsing while connected to a charger may see an increase in battery percentage while doing the same not connected to power will obviously have the opposite affect. In other words, that 2% would probably have been higher had you not been connected.

Yeah ... makes sense but still not understanding why it is even mentioned under "Battery Usage"...

oh well 🙃

Anyone facing problems in executing some of the old Shortcuts?

For example, I could never run "Clean up photos" successfully (it's stuck half way and will be notified that this shortcut took too long to run and come to a halt).

Back-up seems less sensitive and works much better on my iPP. I haven't experienced any false activations yet, at least for triple-tap whereas I had a lot on B2 and disabled it.

I’m finding it still sensitive at least when VO is an option I’ll just put my phone down and it’ll turn on.

I had a real problem initially on my iPP 11 and widgets. Every time I tried to add a 2x4 widget system would crash. Finally did a reset all settings and every thing is now working fine. Have not any problems on my XR.

Could be that. Haptic Touch does pretty much what 3D Touch does in many instances, but not all.

For the cursor movement, you can accomplish pretty much the same thing with Haptic Touch by long pressing on the spacebar and then moving around on the keyboard.

Thanks for the reminder about long pressing the space bar to move the cursor, I was so used to using Haptic Touch to control the cursor that I had forgotten about this feature!

Having a weird install problem.

After downloading and “preparing,” I press “install now” and get the error message in the screenshot after a couple seconds of “verifying the update.”

I tried deleting the downloaded beta install file, then rebooting my iPhone, then redownloading the beta, waiting for the “preparing” to finish then same thing: it just won’t install.

Any ideas?

iPhone 11 Pro, coming from 13.6.

Hi all. I’m having a problem with the share sheet. Sorry if it’s been posted already, I may have overlooked it.

Since installing ios14 dev. beta 3 the icons on share sheet are clickable but blank, only showing a name but not an image, for telegram, discord, and Facebook instant messenger. I’ve done a phone reboot and turned off/on permissions from all those apps to use share sheet with no luck.

Is there a fix to this issue or is this an update required on the end of the applications or Apple? Thank you.

Anyone else having serious issues selecting AirPods Pro as their audio output device on iOS beta 3?

From Post 399
Airpods Pro
IPP 11 PB3 - Would not connect until I had closed the current audio app (Spectrum TV)
ProMax - Would not automatically connect - had to connect manually. After a reboot they are working as expected.

NOTE: playing the same music on both my IPP and PM, the sound from my Airpods Pro on the PM is saturated and not as clear (midtones) as on the IPP. YouTube Music: Panic! At The Disco: High Hopes

Has anyone noticed a decrease in audio quality with their AirPods Pro using the music app on iOS beta 3? I compare the audio to my iPad Pro which is on iPadOS 13.6 and it sounds significantly better.

My issue has remained from beta 2 to beta 3, curious if anyone has a fix. It's kind of dumb, but my Apple ID picture looks all squished and out of place. It transfers from my phone to my Apple TV and shows up in a few other spots also. Just bugs me and my OCD. I tried replacing it, signing in and out of iCloud. Anything else maybe?
