Decided to do a reset back to factory fresh to try and help my battery life that’s been worse since first beta and since last night it is looking much better. 👍

Beta 5 is killing me. Photos app is not responding what so ever. Apps freez and go blank. Share sheet basically won’t work. Hard resting my iPhone did not help.

Anyone else having issues?

How were you able to unfreeze that setting?

You have to make it freeze and while it is frozen, perform a hard reset. After restart, it should then be unfrozen. Note though, that after some time, it does at some point freeze again and the process must be restarted.

First try with ios 14 with this beta. Exchange mail account with mfa not working on iPhone or iPad. Had to delete account on both devices. On my iPhone checking mail never finishes it seems.
If you need to collect exchange mail with Mfa, I would humbly recommend that you move that account to the Microsoft outlook app.

Anyone having issues with that Private WiFi since B5? WiFi wouldn't work until I turned it off, but it never had an issue before last night. And weird my wife's 11PM wasn't having the issue, and she is also on B5 and had the setting on. Even the Device List in the Router settings showed me offline until I turned it off.

In Beta 5 the Carplay status bar has been moved from the vertical left side to the bottom horizontal. And there is no possibility of moving.

Now you see fewer icons per slide. 😟

Regards,
Interesting. Mine are still on the left. Only change I saw yet is that the GO button on Maps in CarPlay is forest green now instead of lime. It is still lime on the iPhone itself.

Has anyone had an issue where significant locations within system settings is now empty? I used to have various locations in there and now it’s clear and doesn’t seem to be registering any new locations or my personal places
No if anything it is working again. It will show work in the morning and home when I leave again. And no more of that random near E Broad St weirdness.

Random reboots several times today, when phone just lay on the table. Anyone else have reboots?
No reboots for me since 3, and they were very rare in 3 compared to 1/2. Nearly every time I set it down for a bit in 1/2, I was greeted by the Passcode Required...

Does anyone else have the issue in iPadOS 14? In the Music app, when I tap on the bar at the bottom to bring up the current song info, it crashes back to the home page?

Same issue here. I can play music just fine and add to Up Next. Crashes as soon as I try to bring the player up. The forward/back and pause/play buttons work normally.

Am I right in thinking that with regard to widget placement, you can’t have just one row of icons above or below, but rather it’s ‘gridded’ to be two rows? And same for columns. Seems a very odd limitation if so.

That's how it's designed to be, for now, it seems.

Found a big and infuriating bug.

When rearranging the home screen and moving widgets about, it occasionally kicks all of my apps that are in custom folders (a lot of them) onto the home screen and deletes the folders.

Did it earlier and I actually wiped and restored my phone from a back up because of how much hassle it was to put them back into folders and then in the order I am used to.... Then it did it again.

Some people reported that happening back in B1/B2

Some of the categories the apps go in are a bit off though

Categories are picked by the developers, from a list by Apple, for the App Store (they pick a Primary & Secondary), so the Devs are to blame, partly. What's not clear is which of the Primary or Secondary is being used for an App by the App Library, and what the criteria is, yet.

Photos and share sheets fine for me.

Apple News app is just stuck on loading. This is only for the “Today” category. The other 3 categories shows something. I’ll notify apple about this but curious if anyone has ran into this problem yet and figured out how to fix it. I deleted the app, reinstalled the app, signed out of iCloud. Restarted the phone.

Mine has some content but gets stuck “Loading” when I scroll to the bottom

Decided I need some excitement in my life so I jumped on the beta train.

Very impressed so far. My 6S feels more fluid overall than 13.6.1, minus a few stutters here and there.

Widgets are super nice and make the Home Screen feel new again.

It could be too early to celebrate, but it seems that mail FINALLY no longer takes two minutes “checking for mail.”

Battery? Can’t comment yet, but doesn’t seem unusually bad so far.

Time will tell but this is shaping up to be a solid release.

I’ve been watching both my 11PM and IPP11 and while I am not seeing restarts I am getting a number of times where it requires me to enter my password in order to activate FaceID.

Put off your face mask and FaceID will work as expected !

Just joking... didn’t experienced it on my iPhone 11 Pro with b5.

Used my AirPod pros today and even though headphone level monitoring is switched off in settings, got a notification saying they were going to be measured over a 7 day period - and saw that the health app is recording data of headphone levels still. Strange!

Happy for you that it has been working.
Unfortunately others are still having issues, including me. Sometimes I can open the mail app and will see "Checking for mail..." at the bottom for up to 30 seconds. I have one Exchange/O365 (work) account and one (personal) iCloud. The Exchange/O365 works flawlessly, the iCloud is the problem child. In fact, b4 was better, usually waited up to 19 seconds for the iCloud account to refresh. Now in b5 up to 30 seconds. Go figure.....
And yes, I have tried every other email client out there, but really like the simplicity of the native Mail app, and the built in "Favorites" feature (set up to only get notification sounds when I receive an email from my favorites).
Been happening since iOS13b1.........
