I am still able to pin favorites in messages, just double checked. Maybe try a restart or hard restart?
I know it’s really boring but you fix it, or at least attempt to, by reporting the bug. Mine is fine on the EE network in the UK.
I lost my pinned conversations sometime after upgrading to DP5, but was able to re-pin them and they've stuck.
I posted about this earlier, but I’m having an issue where I can pin 5 favorites in Messages, and those 5 sync across to my iPad. But when I add a 6th, it doesn’t sync. Then when I manually add that same favorite on my iPad, it removes that 6th favorite on my iPhone but keeps it on my iPad. You can add it back on the iPhone again manually, but then it disappears on my iPad.. Rinse and repeat.. None of the other 5 favorites are impacted, and it doesn’t matter who that 6th favorite is, either.. Weird.
Edit: Here’s my post from Beta 5. Was happening in Beta 2 & 3, too. Didn’t try pinning any favorites during Beta 1.

The issue I’m having is that if I start with no pinned messages, I can add 5 on my iPhone 11 Pro Max and they sync to my iPad Pro 2018. The 6th one doesn’t sync. BUT, if I add it manually on my iPad it disappears on my iPhone. So weird.

Right - I did report it, but that was not my question. It was to see if anyone was having the same issue, ie if it is common. So, would like to hear from others if they have the same issue.
Well and now it always shows a wrong badge. 2 and I don’t have new Mails. Later 3 and I’ve had only one new mail which wasn’t in my inbox.
Yeah, that's pretty much the definition of a 'bug'... pretty much everyone gets it.
Yeah I noticed this too. Took awhile for this to finally happen. My light was always staying red.
Just experienced my first random reboot with the 14 betas. I was just scrolling through Google search results in Safari, then *poof*. Phone shut down and rebooted.
Anyone noticing that selecting “Short Name” in the Contacts Settings menu isn’t really working correctly? I see short names appearing some places but not others...
Until Globug mentioned it I had not even noticed that my pinned messages were unpinned. They were repinned and working on Big Sur as well without incident. I wonder if the pins were knocked off by a Big Sur issue instead of an iOS one.

Include a screenshot of the issue, maybe circle the area and don't worry too much about the description.
I have not installed any Big Sur betas... so my money is on iOS... Ockham's razor
I face that awakrd issue on IPAD PRO 11 2020 when connect it to BT mouse and keyboard !! Is any one else face that issue on all IOS 14 Beta included Beta 6 !??
