Is it possible to have Handiff go one way only? For example for it to only hand off from my iPad to my iPhone BUT NOT hand off from my iPhone to iPad?

I’m not on the iOS 14 beta but, yes, on iOS 13. By way of a bug I assume. (Reported but never fixed.)

On the iPad, the Settings > Home Screen & Dock > Show Suggested and Recent Apps in Dock toggle in the off position.

If you turn the iPad off (hold power button and then slide to shut down). When you turn it back on, Handoff from iPhone to iPad doesn’t work (the Handoff app icon doesn’t appear at the right side of the dock), but Handoff from iPad to iPhone does work.

You can get Handoff to work from iPhone to iPad again by toggling the above setting on then off again. iPhone to iPad Handoff will then keep working until the next time the iPad is turned off and on again.

Thanks Paul. I'll give that a try later today.

It doesn’t have that level of control.

I'm going to give this method a try tonight and will feedback if it works on ios 14.

Is it possible to turn off the new click sound that sounds when haptic feedback kicks in? I don’t mean the vibration itself but the sound that’s introduced in iOS 14. I know I can mute the phone and problem solved but I need the other sounds like ringtone etc.

I’ve tried disabling haptic feedback in sounds but both haptic and annoying click sound persist when scrolling and long tapping links in Safari.

So I’ve found a way to customise the photo widget using an album of my choice, which is what everyone here seems to want :).

This can be achieved with a combination of shortcuts made using ‘WidgetPack’ app and shortcuts automation. You need to install the app for the shortcut to work.

You can play around with the values in the resize command for small and medium widgets. I used auto-width x 500 on my iPad Pro and auto-width x 300 on iPhone 11 Pro Max.

After my issue with App Library and missing apps I have been keeping an eye on it. Nothing missing till this morning.
Woke up my 11PM and it wanted the password to enable FaceID.
Checked the App Library and was missing one app - TestFlight.
A hard reboot once again fixed the issue. Not sure what is going on.

I currently do not plan on using the App Library as a main source due to its design and my folder use. Still I am testing it as part of the beta.

Reported.

I’m having an issue where Apple Music’s Now Playing screen isn’t showing the icon to denote an Explicit track, which is an issue I’ve had multiple times during this process.

Really hope they’re not permanently removing the Explicit indicator from that screen…

To one of the posters earlier, I am also having pretty crazy battery drain on my S4 Apple Watch and my PowerBeats Pro. I’ve been having to charge them both 2-3 x’s more than normal through the day now. But, battery issues can still be attributed to it being a beta and there’s probably extensive logging and slow caching going on. Stuff that won’t be in the GM. Also that “Other” storage space for me is still above 36GB, and also something that will be gone when I do a backup/restore when the GM comes out. My pains are with iPadOS and that dang keyboard popping up all the time when I’ve got a physical keyboard connected. Or that weird fast “dropping“ of the text field in the Messages app that doesn’t go away unless you force quit Messages. There’s still time. I hope..

Mine comes and goes.
Either it matches or its off by a degree. Not seeing any rythm to the mismatches.

I was seeing the mismatch on earlier betas, but not one mismatch with Beta 7.

Where is the setting to define default third-party email and browser apps? Nowhere to be found. I'd like to use Preside and Edge.

Apple have to approve who gets to utilise that function. It requires a build of the app that is done using Xcode 12 too, so possibly in the week leading up to iOS 14's release, those app updates will be released.

It's been said that the expected ones should have it on iOS 14's release (Chrome, Firefox, etc).

I agree. Much more difficult to find the dodgy stuff you want to listen to.😜
