The color contrast of the Maps display is very poor when iOS Dark Mode is enabled. A friend sent me a location pin, I tapped into it, and I can hardly see the roads in the map (screenshot attached).

There needs to be higher contrast between the road and the background when using dark mode.

This is a complaint I understand...but then really don't. Hit "directions" and the route you need to follow will be highlighted, the phone/CarPlay will tell you where to go/when to turn. The whole point of dark mode (especially Maps in this mode) is to not show distracting brighter lines that have no effect on the route you are taking. And the assumption is that you are actually IN darkness, so your eyes/pupils should be adjusted to see the lower contrast better.

It was WORSE last year when dark mode was first introduced and they made a significant change to the contrast level in Maps in particular based on the initial complaints (during the initial beta). I think it's just one of those things that you're either okay with or you're not. It's a rare complaint (if at all) since the change...at least in the main Maps thread.

Does PIP work with the YouTube app?

Not yet. Needs to be coded using Xcode 12, and apps coded with that are not being accepted by Apple yet. Look for the app update that should come out in the week leading up to iOS 14 (if you are running the beta/GM), providing YouTube have it ready for launch.

Edit: See post 337 from me instead, above is wrong: #337

It seems like PIP works for the Prime Video app.

Ignore my post totally. I was having a brain fart this morning. PiP will work, providing the app supported it for the iPad, as it's just using the same code.

With YouTube, I doubt they are bringing PiP to the iPhone version, as they never brought it to the iPad version (not even for those with Premium membership). So, unless YouTube have a change of heart, don't expect to see PiP on the iPhone version anytime soon.

@Looney01 see above, I gave you duff information.

Been playing with apps and b7 on the 11PM and IPP112020

New issue - MyQuest was okay under b6 but I get the Jailbreak warning on b7

RAM Manage - seeing a greater than previous complete reload of larger apps (FF9, HeckFire, SpectrumTV, GoogleEarth, Blink, Word, Excel, ...) more so on the PM than the IPP.

Still seeing occasional complete drops of wifi. Will run several tests and all is well until it drops to zero for a second or two then picks right back up.

Still seeing issues with Mail. Latest is a mismatch between accounts and total unread. Sporadic. A manual refresh fixes it. Yes, this bug is back. (see below - 9 in accounts, 30 in total unread)

There are parts of iOS 14 that are maddeningly frustrating. I was playing with widget a bit ago - specifically playing with some 4x4 widgets and trying to stack them... as a result, ALL of my apps lost their folders and I ended up with some 200 apps scattered across about 12 pages... totally borked up my screen layout. I've seen that on a much smaller scale all along the way - adding a widget somewhere causes icons to be moved off of the first page and stuff shoved around... but this was an absolute nuclear meltdown of my home page(s). Grrr.

I now have it mostly put back together now... and lesson learned... done playing with widgets for now.

I lost the option to forward sms to my Mac in messages

Update: My main number is on esim and the phisical sim line was disabled. I enabled it and the option came back.

Is this a new feature? Showing what time phone will be fully charged?

Optimized battery charging has been out for a while now and I have it on also but it doesn’t work on my phone! This is the first time I saw your screen ever setting that!

Does anyone else have optimized battery charging working?

Anyone with problems in Bedtime alarm?

Yesterday I missed my alarm because it doesn’t sound. Today I woke up thanks to my Apple Watch that vibrate (but no sound also).

I setup my bedtime with alarm on and sound like this:

Phone doesn’t sound and watch only vibrate.

It’s reported.

Yep been there myself with the exact same results. I've ended up not using folders for the moment and making good use of the App Library. Needless to say I've reported it via Feedback! They must fix this one or I can see eruptions from users!

My battery life sucks on beta 7.
I'm finding it okay on the phone but it's killing battery life on the watch especially overnight.

The Apple Store app crashes consistently when I select the 27 inch iMac.
