Apps can access the clipboard without you actively tapping 'paste' - these alerts now give that away.

Obviously if you open up a dating app and it tells you it accessed data that 1Password or some other app with private data, you probably wouldn't be too pleased.

Ooookay, then keep it active for that? My only point is that having a kind of intrusive and useless banner with useless information drop down and tell me which app that I already know where I copied my text from, is kind of annoying. I use the copy / paste function literally over 50 times per day in my daily use sometimes maybe more so it’s quite the eyesore and the information it provides is quite useless. Seems like another example of bad design it’s just a peeve of mine is all lol a me thing

1. Reduced WiFi speed

11 Pro on iOS 14 GM - 110mbps
11 Pro Max on iOS 13.7 - 140mbps

tested both multiple times

2. Low light photos can be a bit blurry especially 2x zoom

3. A tad laggy transition

Forgive me for forgetting, but does Apple Watch activity/history sync from iCloud if you set up your iPhone as a new device?
When you unpair Apple Watch from the iPhone, it creates a backup. Usually I also create an iCloud Backup on my iPhone after that and then erase it. Set your iPhone up as new but restore your Apple Watch from the cloud.
I'm not sure if it's necessary because Health is enabled in iCloud Settings, but I'm doing it to be extra confident 🙈

Only if they change the version number. The GM is what they plan to release, I have it installed, and done just that, software say's 14.0

Yeah I expect the public release to have the same build number as the GM considering the timing. In that case I expect I won't get an update at all on that device since I already have the final build, correct?

I'll keep the beta profile on there until I get the update on my other devices anyway just to be sure. Afterwards I'll delete it.

P.S. If anyone is curious, the size of the GM update on the iPhone SE 1 was 3.38GB.

Yes. If the health app is synced to iCloud on your iPhone, it will sync up when you login to iCloud on a fresh setup of iOS. Just did this myself recently when I upgraded from an X to an XS. The Apple Watch setup is slowwww when you pair it to a new device (or at least the S3 is) but it all syncs up in the end.

Just noticed this is the Watch app, pretty sure this was the old App Store placeholder screen, now it’s links to useful info.

I installed it and still have the feedback app.
I think some of the stuff is tied to the beta profile, but I’ve always thought the GM install with the full size OS helps clear out some of the junk from the incremental beta updates over the summer.

No issue here at all.

It's more likely down to other issues, your ISP/location of your phone. I've noticed sometimes even moving it a metre changes the speed.

Its just turned off by default until next year not removed, you should still be able to enable it.

so basically right now we have a toggle that does not do anything? Why didn't they just hide this option. Also I want my "reset Apple Ad ID" back in the meantime!

The whole release seems a bit rushed. No macOS update yet to even make sure you can restore your iPhone on iOS 14 if something goes wrong (I assume they will also have to make an update to Catalin since not everyone can run Big Sur?) and devs not having enough time to upload and get their app updates approved before the launch. I am sure lots of apps are still in the processing queue at apple. crazy

Stupid noob question but if I delete the beta profile on the GM will I still get an update for the public release later today? Not used to testing out the iOS betas.

GM and Public release will be the same build, so you won't get another update today if you have the GM installed now and remove the Beta profile.

It's part of transparency over what things are accessing. It shows for that, as that's the first part of pasting from the clipboard, it's an all or nothing thing. It appears for a couple seconds and then goes, so it's not the end of the world. Not useless if you had copied something private like a password from notes and then a random app takes that info and accesses your account, or something.

so basically right now we have a toggle that does not do anything? Why didn't they just hide this option.

I suspect that due to the late timing of it being halted, it was easier to do this, and as soon as it's going ahead again, it's a minor thing to sort out.

I feel like that’s not a thing? When has anyone ever pasted text and they don’t know how it got to their clipboard or what app it came from?

People may not do this (for the sake of argument) but apps do it without telling you. A major point of this is to warn you when an app does it without your knowledge.

The first part of your statement is accurate. As to the second part, all the betas of iOS 14.0 say “14.0”. There is never a reference to the beta. To determine that, you would need to reference the build number. So that won’t be too much help

The Mac update has been later than iOS for at least the past several years. Why do you need the Mac update to restore the phone? People have been restoring phones throughout the beta without issue, all on the existing Catalina build.

iOS was rushed (3 fewer weeks in beta than previous years) but doesn’t feel rushed to me at all.

I thought you need Big Sur OR the latest Xcode beta to restore? For me it never worked on Catalina

Actually, therefore, my whole statement is accurate. Don't be that guy...

poor call quality after installing first B1. Expected it would be resolved in GM but still. Now, hope, original call quality will be restored in public release. Now, onwards, deleting beta profile.

Let us know here if it improved in the release version. Also, which network? And on VoLTE or VoWiFi?

Chances are that this is preparation for the upcoming multi-device support that requires you to connect to your e.g. iPad (once they push an app for that) once to transfer chat history etc. over.

Seeing how both of these things (multi-device support and iPad app) are probably 2 decades away, it could also be for WhatsApp web clients that try to have a socket connection to your iOS app.

I have siri suggestions when sharing turned on but on GM and all betas the share sheet to recent message recipients has not been working. Anyone have a work around?
I find it very worrisome that this bug is still popping up in the GM. Happened to me on beta 4 and after a restore, I have not had the issue since. I hope they fix this one soon because if it happens to me again, I would hate to restore again.

ios13.5 official bottom score.... and after 24hrs iOS 14 GM top score both for multi score... iPhone XR.
Now tell me something is wrong because how can 14 be a 1000 off? Or does does Geekbench need an update for 14? thoughts...
