Sorry in advance that this isn’t super-explicitly-iOS-related in nature but as a longtime appreciator of this relatively active thread and as a longtime anticipator of HomePod Software Version 14, does anyone happen to know or just feel in any way that it might drop today along with its higher-billing iOS/iPadOS counterparts?

From what I've seen, the current betas for HomePod are labeled as 14.1, so they may be delaying a release until iOS 14.1 comes out later in the year.

Right…I just have this strange, dreadful feeling that it’s going to be delayed/released later on for some reason, not that it’s a huge deal but I’ve honestly hated not being able to beta-test this summer (upon not being invited to the closed beta).

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I installed iOS 14 PB 7 a couple of days back and deleted the beta profile today in anticipation of public release. Will i now be able to install the public release when it is released today or should setup the beta profile again and install GM to be able to get the public release?

I wouldn‘t count a 14.0 HomePod release out of the equation. If history repeats itself the last beta build of 14.0 is the final release.

But then again, if it doesn‘t drop today it probably wont drop at all (until 14.1).

Apple likes to make fun of us. The guy at the “red button” going like: “shall I do it?” Somebody else going!: “nahhh, make ‘m hope for it a bit more”

Guys, obviously what happened is due to blowback, Apple is releasing iOS 14 at 4pm instead of 1pm. Developers will have 27 hours instead of 24 hours to get their apps ready on the public build.

I’m kidding for those with poor sarcasm detection.
