Battery life is looking pretty good after doing the clean install of 15.4 and not restoring from backup.

10 days usage if you don’t use your phone after midnight. ?

Find it more accurate this way.

Anyone know why find my is constantly running in the background overnight when not using your iPhone? ?

Creepy.

Do you have AirTags setup? @LFC2020
It's a common complaint among AirTag users.
Yep, got one of them little suckers on my key ring. ? hasn’t come in handy yet, waste of $45. ?

Oh well, can’t complain, not experiencing any battery drain.

Thank you.

Has anybody else been experiencing issues with receiving phone calls when using CarPlay? I basically get no caller screen, notification or anything and only find out after my drive that I missed a call or two. I'm not using any focus mode while driving.

That every much sounds like you have Silence Unknown Callers enabled.

So I updated yesterday to 15.4 from 14.8.1 and whenever I lock and charge my phone the cpu is pegged to nearly 100% and the phone is very warm to the touch. Ive been keeping it plugged in nearly all day because I'm guessing its indexing?! Is this correct or do I have a bad install? I just want it to end! whenever I take it off the charge the cpu drops back down to 5-10% like it should... Could it really be indexing this long?

Something doesn’t sound right. ?

Have you tried doing a force restart?

I always restart my phone after a install.

What’s your battery health at?

Doubt it’s still indexing.

I just rebooted it again. Going to leave it on the charger for awhile again and check if its still hot.
Battery health is at 85% battery fine.
Everything was fine and dandy on 14.8.1 until I updated through my Mac yesterday.

See how you go after rebooting your device, if that didn’t clear out the cobwebs, might be a dodgy install.

I just wonder if indexing is real? I wish Apple would tell us not to get worried and that it’s normal for our phones to be working overtime all night for a few nights or that it isn’t abnormal to wake up to a very warm device.

I’ve gone down the google search rabbit hole where some swear the iPhone indexes after a major update and some day it doesn’t. I’d really like to know which is what!

A lot of different opinions on this topic. ?‍♂️

If your phone was indexing, highly doubt it would still be indexing till now.

If it hasn’t settled down by now, I’d suggest restoring your device.

You wouldn’t get an answer from Apple, officially, because it may steer people away from upgrading. But indexing does occur, in my experience.

I don't, and in no way would it only apply when using CarPlay I think?
Try forget this device in iPhone bluetooth settings, then delete your paired iPhone on your car head unit, then pair your phone again.

If it just happens while on charge then it’s probably performing other functions like processing faces in photos, iCloud backups and other on-device AI. There are functions that iOS performs while only plugged in as they’re resource intensive and it sounds like that’s what you’re experiencing right now.
Could be another couple days before it completely settles down.

This morning it was still warm but much less warm so maybe by tomorrow morning it will be back to ice cold. Thank you.

Another thing I’m noticing right off the bat after being a long time ios 14.8.1 user is that ram management has improved quite a bit. Did Apple give me another GB of ram with this update?! My phone is a little bit slower but it’s keeping many more apps suspended in the background.

If only I could have the speed back from iOS 14 and the ram management of 15 it would be nearly perfect on my “old” launch iPhone 7.

No going back now. I just need to hang on until this fall. Planning to get a 13 mini when the price drops. I just wanted to get used to iOS 15 before I get the mini. And by then I’ll have the most polished version of iOS 15 running on my brand new mini and I’ll keep it on there for till next year when iOS 16 is fully polished.
