I don’t know if this is a bug or not, but Dolby Atmos seems to be working on wired earphones now. I have a pair of beats earbuds (with 3.5mm jack) I used for gaming, and somehow Dolby has been working on these, and it sounds pretty good.

That could be the issue. There’s a lot of AI related to photos like identifying objects, faces and building memories etc. Take your iPhone out of the case while charging if you could to keep it from getting too hot till it settles down.
It was the photos scanning feature.

I iCloud backuped everything except my photos. So now I have zero photos and the phone is back to ice cold while charging.

All my photos are backed up to google so I’m fine. It’s a fresh start and a nice non glitchy cold phone with all my previous settings so I guess I’m good. Still highly annoying that I had to go through all of that again.

Typical iCloud garbage, Mac backup for me always.

One thing android does better than iOS, Google cloud backups is miles ahead of iCloud.

iCloud has been out since 12 October 2011, it's still a piece of crap.

I purposely wanted iCloud to not back up my photos because I knew that is what was causing the problem with it scanning my photos over and over every night. So I unchecked photos and just restored the rest and it worked perfectly and now I have a ton of space again.

Apple has gotten really good at vertical integration and hardware and software optimization and efficiency. For over a decade Apple worked really hard on its hardware processors and it is bearing fruit. So much so that everyone now wants to try and capture what Apple has done, with not so much success. What is really amazing is how well Apple Silicon scales up. The processor for the Mac Pro is going to be absolute beast, I suspect. And Apple will probably be able to keep the CPU/GPU under 200 watts. Again allowing Apple to be able to use a small chassis for the Mac Pro, with a very quiet operation.

That last part is the key. There are PCs out there with sufficiently fast CPUs/GPUs to equal the M1 series chips in processor intensive tasks, but their power draw, heat dissipation needs and fan noise are much, much greater.

That’s the selling point.

BATTERY HEALTH (not that I believe it) but, I don’t know if you guys remember but I was losing 2% health ever beta cycle. Was crazy. Restores you name it never got that back even though it is thought to have been believed.

Wasn’t until I pinched the idea off @Banglazed that he charges his phone and when it gets to 100% set a short cut to sound an alert and you unplug.

I’ve not had optimised battery turned on, never gone in the red and only needed to charge once a day siiiiiiince around 15.1 I think with the above method. And not used my Belkin wireless charging pad.

Since then, it’s dropped 1%. A MASSIVE difference.

Glad it has helped. Hope this fixes things for you.

My current method of charging.
I charge my 13PM on my OnePlus 50W charging stand and it reads 100% currently. I don't worry about % or how long or ... I just stick it on and pull it off when I remember. Don't use optimized. Don't use Low Power. Keeping fingers crossed.

Why didn't you get a smart plug instead and set up a shortcut to automatically turn off once it reaches 80% or 100%? It's much simpler that way. 80% is a much better SoC if you really wanna extend your battery health.

Could do, but I charge my phone when I sit down in the studio and my phones always next to me.

But that’s a good idea. Like that. Thanks. ??

Definitely the charging over night and using a wireless pad was hammering my iPhone 12. shouldn’t do, but it was. ?

Not sure if this has been reported over the course of the 36 pages of posts here, but when I move my cursor from my MBP to my iPad via Universal Control, and I have the Messages app open, as soon as the cursor moves to the iPad The text/typing field disappears.

Yeah, but you only get 80% of the potential usage time.

If you're me: just use the phone and if after a few years the battery isn't good, replace it (battery or phone). Same with laptops.

Anybody purchased this? ?

Any good? Reliable?

$49.95 ?

Is podcast downloading working for others? On my 7 plus, that I use for media content, downloading episodes is broken with 15.4 Starts downloading, the circle closes but the episode is still not downloaded.

Well I can finally confidently say the touch registration issue with 13PM has been eliminated with 15.4. Thank goodness, for a while I thought I made a bad decision in purchasing this phone. Lets hope it doesn't resurface.

I am still having the touch registration issue in 15.4 on my 13 Pro Max. I even did a clean install of 15.4, without doing a restore from backup. Every setup from scratch. No hardware issue, Apple ran hardware diagnostics.

This is another case of why some issues affect some people but not others. The storage calculation size is another example of this, affecting some people only.

I do have to say that 15.4 on my 13 Pro Max, the animations and scrolling are super smooth. Battery life is also better, if that was even possible given how good battery life been pre-15.4.

It’s working as expected on my iPhone 11, over WiFi and 4G.

@Pearsey Hi bud, if you are looking for a Smart plug, TP Link makes several that are decently priced. They also work with Shortcut's automation. I have mine set to shut power off once the battery hits 85% charged. That way I can charge overnight without worrying.
