Battery life: if you don’t know me by now I’m a big sharer in positive findings I explore on my ip 12, this one is battery life in con junction with Chrome Browser. I’ve been using it since 15.5 and battery life for me I’m shocked to see has jumped. It COULD be the new fixes recently, but worth a go if your getting low, no pun intended, about safari and battery life.

I fully intend in showing Safari some love again in ios16, it’s just nice to mix it up and so far chrome is shining bright.

Last charge was 4pm yesterday. I only charge once a day once I hit red. 48% left with 6hrs screen on, ain’t bad. It’s normally around 30% left 5hrs.

Anyone having an issue where nothing will load when connected to Wi-Fi? My home internet is working fine, just not loading anything on my iPhone with iOS 15.5. I have to turn off Wi-Fi and then turn it back on to get it to work for a few minutes.

All good hey, all though I’m not convinced by the new firmware update on this beta.

Have you tried a network reset on your device? You’ll lose all your Wi-Fi connection passwords saved, but this normally sorts things like this out if it’s definitely not your router.

Haven’t had that issue yet on my 15.5 devices. Maybe it’s a bad interaction between your phone and router? I have had that issue in years past (with different device and internet configurations) and it was extremely frustrating. I think it was worst when I had my 8 Plus, not that it matters.

So far 15.5’s been smooth sailing for me—how I’ve missed being able to say those words!

Try rebooting your router and if that doesn’t work then disable ”Private Wi-Fi Address” to see if it makes any difference.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I'll reboot the router at lunch today and see if that makes a difference. Then I'll do the disable "Private Wi-Fi Address". If all that fails, I'll do the dreaded network reset 😆

I think people put too much emphasis on the amount of free RAM.
Yeah agreed. RAM does no good sitting there free and empty.
Just coming back to reiterate that 15.5 continues to be but a dream here in 13 mini/iPad 9 land—those still on 15.4(.1) are missing out in my honest opinion.

The next week and a half, or until beta 2 makes its debut, is looking to be smooth sailing.

I personally just don’t understand not sating one’s beta appetite before WWDC, especially since by this point in iOS 15’s lifecycle it’s a pretty safe bet that the betas are going to bring both the latest and the greatest experience.
What exactly is so much better than 15.4.1 that is being missed out on? Not sure I have seen anything actually mentioned. Thanks.

Been playing with this beta on my 13 ProMax today and Looking to see what worked, what didn’t, and did I have any whacky changes.

From 15.4 - issues that were.
1. My issue with Teams killing my current call on AirPods Pro is fixed. It is now treated just like any other call.
2. Link in Mail that opens in Safari instead of App. Now working fine.
3. Safari tab opening in something other than current Light/Dark setting. So far so good …

New issues for 15.5 b1
1. Killed my password on App Store ID. Had to reset the password I use for the Apple ID applied to App Store.
Note: I have one Apple ID for the device. Another Apple ID for the App Store. This is a work phone and has a work secondary App Store.
2. I use 5G and WiFi 6e. Having issues with data just stopping. Can occur mid app use (see pic below)
3. In Kindle, books in a series are grouped. This still works but new purchases are not added - they are listed separate. Works fine on Android.
4. I use a 24hr clock. Asked Siri to set the alarm for 4 o’clock. Both 0400 and 1600 were set.
5. Settings - for Calendar and Messages, my Temporary Banner was changed to Persistent.

So far is working okay. The data issue is a pita. Working fine for all other devices. Have killed the Wi-Fi on device and redid. Not sure what I can do about 5G.

Will play with IPP11 tomorrow.

This was an OTA install. May do ipsw on Sunday.

Yes, spellcheck still really sucks.

Let’s see if that IPSW clears anything up for you. ??

Working fine here. At least, it works the way I'd want it to if I used iPhone Alarms, which I don't :)

"Set an alarm for 4 o'clock" - Siri sets it for 16:00.
"Set an alarm for 4 o'clock tomorrow" - Siri sets it for 4am.

This actually could be a very good test of your hypothesis. The only hitch is that it may not be clear that its the IPSW install or the several reboots that resolve the issues (if in fact they are resolved).
