I use cellular streaming for Music so I can listen while I’m working and I still occasionally have the issue where some songs stop at 15 seconds. I also noticed the Music app is eating my battery as I listen to a mix of it and Podcasts all day while working. I changed my settings to only play lossless music and all that jazz when I’m on Wi-Fi to save battery. Doesn’t help that the signal at my desk isn’t the best so there’s more battery being ate up. 😭 I’m thinking that a good alternative for me would be to download a lot of music and podcasts and just listen in Airplane mode while I’m at my desk.

I’d say it’s more than checking for DRM. I’m on WiFi most of the time and only listen to music about 20 mins one way and Music still managed to drain over 5GB of my data. And adding to the confusion is I set my cellular streaming to “High Efficiency” which would make it impossible to use that much data in such a short span of streaming. And now I’m without data at all for another couple weeks.

Great job with changing the music forever idiots🤦🏻‍♂️
That sucks.
One prime reason I strictly buy and collect music myself and only stream when I just want to listen to some random stuff while wifi is on. But I guess next time I should turn off mobile data permanently for Apple music app from now on.

Running iOS 15 dev beta 1 (19A5261w) on iPhone 12. Weather app suppose to feature raindrops bouncing animation effects during drizzle, shower, rain, heavy rains and thunderstorms weather conditions. Till today I unable to see any water bouncing animation effects. Apple did mentioned that there are thousands of variations in animation. Not sure if still not the right time to feature these water bouncing animation? Could be something that I missed out ?? Pls advise. Till now nobody able to solve. Really hope miracle will appear to answer, many thanks

Since being on 15,I have noticed my accessories burn through battery a lot faster.
AW4
Airpods Pro

In Messages, a non-iOS entry, if I click the user contact at the top and select call, all I get is a "loading..." like it is trying to load an app or something. It loads forever.

Probably has something to do with all the "Shared With You" stuff... It may be looking for items that have been shared and timing out since it is a non-iOS contact. Hopefully you filed a feedback report...

I see them when it is raining in my area. Looks pretty cool actually. The animations are nice. Not that this should matter, but have you granted Weather access to your location? Or are you only using manually entered locations?

I don’t think the location matters, i have a list of countries and cities manually entered in my weather app. I saw some countries rain, drizzle, heavy rain or thunderstorms condition and totally no water jumping around animation. Not necessarily to be at my countries location right ?? Thanks for your reply

No, the dropdown on call (or text or video) are related to communication methods. Apps can provide hooks to their communication feature in there. It defaults to basic calls, but for iPhone users it also shows FaceTime Audio and 3rd party apps like WhatsApp or Telegram also add theirs.

This even works with Android users, since your locally installed app provides the information (e.g. WhatsApp has your contactlist and knows which number is active on WhatsApp, whether it‘s iOS or Android doesn‘t matter).

It started happening to me too and now I figured out why they didn’t before. I think Apple Music is using data even for downloaded lossless/Atmos tracks. I had the data saver enabled for cellular streaming before and I still managed to eat through 5GB of my data just playing already downloaded tracks.
Now with the cellular disabled for Music entirely it happens with almost all the lossless tracks. Never goes beyond 15”.

I’m surprised there isn’t an article on Macrumors highlighting the severity of this issue.
I don't think it's limited to just Music... all of my most frequently used apps seem to be burning through a lot more data on this beta. Really odd thing is that I am on wifi the vast majority of the time.

You are describing how it is supposed to function, which it is clearly not doing at the moment for you, and discounting the NEW "Shared with You" stuff that was introduced in this build.

I am not saying this is a certainty but more a "could be" cause of the issue you are seeing.

Shouldn't matter but I have learned to never discount something out of hand on these early betas. If you can stomach the invasion I would suggest enabling location in weather to see if makes any difference the next time it rains/drizzles/storms wherever you are.

I have my location enabled as well as manual entries for a few remote locations and it works. I hadn't;t looked at the location cards for the other places during weather events but this has me curious so I will today. One of my locations is in Florida and it's supposed to rain there today (of course it is)

Another thing that just popped into my head as I drink my coffee. I had an issue with the Weather app the day after I installed iOS 15. All the sudden it simply would not open. The widget still worked and updated but the app wouldn't open. I uninstalled weather and re-installed it and it's been bullet-proof since. If you haven't tried that it may be worth a go.

I've seen this mentioned a couple of times but never gave it much thought since I'm on an unlimited data plan. Out of curiosity I checked in my cellular data usage just now...... Wowee

38.4 GB used and only halfway through the month. I average 10 - 15 for a full month.

I wish you could just swipe down to hide the toolbar in safari like you were able to swipe up to do it in iOS 14. But I guess it’s good you can still press a button to do it.

I'm only at 3.12 GB for the month. There must be certain apps that use a LOT more data. And this is with some music usage.

Lossless streaming is the culprit...

Before installing ios 15 dev beta 1, my iPhone 12 storage available was 219GB after installing is dipped to 199GB, strange.
also wondering will apple release iOS 15 dev beta 2 next week ??

My bad, read it as in you trying to suggest that the dropdown might include Shared with You content.

I honestly don‘t think it‘s related to the shared with you feature. If there‘s a parallel to something new being the cause, it could potentially be FaceTime bricking the dropdown (since that‘s overall pretty horrible quality in B1).

Ugh, I live in Arizona. Doubful I'll ever see this animation...lol

Here ya go... I have Orlando set as an additional location and it's raining there now. The other animations look pretty cool too, like a cloudy day will show the clouds moving & a partially sunny day will show the clouds move across the sun, etc. This is what Apple meant by there being hundreds of possible animations. Wonder what it would look like for someone in a tropical storm or some other severe weather event.
