Thanks StumpyBloke. Much appreciated.

Regarding the insults - I get so frustrated in here when folk come out with sarcastic, snidey, patronising comments. It happens all too often. My initial question was polite and friendly, and the follow up reply, was genuine and sincere where I mentioned I was already running a beta. The replies to both were neither.

But I do apologise :)

No worries and good luck with the install. I’d do it myself but for the lack of first direct app support.

yeah but dude, come on, if you don’t know these very, very basic questions, you shouldn’t be playing around with betas. It’s voices of concern. If your phone bricks. it’s a little bit like going to buy a car and not knowing how to drive it.

no one’s insulted you. Not that I can see. In fact you’ve called out “ annoying nerd” that’s an insult if anything. Taking it all way to personally. 👍🏼
But if I don't ask I won't know. I've had a beta for over a year and alls been good. I just wanted to know some.basics. But I do appreciate everyone's concerns. That's what makes this a great community.

Anyone running this on an iPhone 11 Pro?

odd question: has apple brought in ProRaw to the iPhone 11 Pro with iOS15? I am asking, because Apple has done that kind of move before with bringing previously introduced features to older devices with the next major release… so this just came to my mind if they did that as well with ProRaw.

As a general rule of thumb: running a beta build means there could be some, and eventually more, “bugs”. In some cases some minor things impacting a few and in other cases a major issue impacting maybe only you. Everyone’s expectations should be set low and then be grateful when betas run as smooth as they’ve been. I’m still expecting some major bug to crop up at some point. And if it doesn’t, great.

Also, notice this post is in the 900’s? Not that we all expect you to go through every single post, but a lot of things have been covered (again, great community), and in some cases the same things have been covered again and again and and and and…

So.. today I've got a bit of an App Store issue, it drained 80% of my battery.... and it went from 60% to 5% in two hours. Also, phone was hot AF Anyone else?

I've rebooted and now it's charging back but... damn!
Yup. Seeing so much background use on this beta for several apps. iCloud photos upload takes forever too.

Guys of I install the public beta over my current ios 14 public beta, will I lose all my photos and settings?
I have been using beta since ios10 on my daily driver, had issues once or twice but never had any issue. Some apps fail to launch, I learned to remove them and re-install and they work with no issue.

True.

For me though, if I don’t know something I look through the thread, then head to Google and do my own research, then if I’m still stuck for an answer… I come back here and ask. Also make a point of helping others when I can as I’ve been helped in the past. Pass it forward. But that’s just me.

So some questions can come across as lazy or a concern for the person about their level of knowledge on the subject with these betas.

hope the fix worked. 👍🏼

Hello fellow scouser 😁🏆

Most important thing to do first 🚨BACKUP🚨 your phone, delete the iOS 14 profile, download iOS 15 profile and have at it.

Make sure that you're willing to run into the occasional bug here and there before 👉🔘

Battery life continues to plummet. I can’t make it through a day on a charge anymore.

And worse, my battery health is now at 92%; this was a launch day 12 Pro Max. 😟
I’ve got the same phone and am at 96% health and have been getting down to 30% twice a day. Not good!

not seeing that or have done on these betas on my 12.

You got a large video stuck or an image? Lots of images trying delete themselves in trash?
Nope just regular photos. It’s been uploading 9 photos since this morning. Everything else is fine. Shared albums works correctly. So strange.

I’m thinking when iOS 15 goes official release, I’ll erase my phone and setup as new.

You might remember I was suffering with battery health dropping 3% in the iOS 14 betas. Freaked me out.

Erased and set up as new phone didnt change much, as I’d read some people saw a little bump up of battery health on Apple forums from this. Spoke to Apple and she tested my battery, all was well, and told me you can expect anything up to 10% in your first year.

Over running processors and unstable betas are certainly going to speed up that process I suppose.

can you stop those 9 photos. I’ve tried before, turn airplane mode on, open photos to make sure that process has stopped properly, quit photos, turn airplane mode off, open photos and check status…

or if that’s not working, pause the upload, quit photos, wait like 5-10, open photos, resume upload.

that for me has relinked the process and cleared up anything stuck. I think also, do some research though, logging out of iCloud, hard restart, log back into iCloud can help.
