I usually hold out to public beta 5 or 6 as well. Depending how the convo is going on the developer beta. I do remember waiting to beta 7 once or twice.
That’s a good idea actually. I do have a dev account for educational purposes and practicing my coding skills really. But I suppose using the public beta on my main device and waiting to get the consensus from people on the dev beta prior to installing is a safer route!

Was it mentioned that the Shortcuts app crashes upon launching in this beta? Hopefully it will be fixed soon. 👍

I have an iPhone XR.

Public Beta = Dev Beta

You could also just sit out updating for a day to check reports of bricking, boils down to the same.

Dev beta and public beta are exactly the same (I’ll add the qualifier “99% of the time” to silence those who will inevitably remind me of the one or 2 times that was not the case ). The only difference is when they are released to the respective groups. Early on, the public beta can be released a week or several days later. From here on out it should be same day, 2-3 hours apart.

Generally, I’d say things are pretty locked down by this point BUT things can happen to individual users at any time during a beta process. If you are comfortable reverting back to the current publicly released version of iOS AND you’ve created an archived backup, you should be ok.

Is anyone able to use airplay to play stuff from their phone to their Mac? I used to be able to do it, but I think the latest beta broke this function? Or it could be issue at my end. Can anyone test this

Working fine here from iPad and iPhone to Mac on current betas.

I’m wondering what is triggering the screen to wake up randomly with no notification .. I just had this starting on my phone with beta 5 and its only done it 3 or 4 times since I installed Dev beta 5 on the other hand my wife’s phone same phone as mine by the way started in beta 4 and does it like 3 to 4 times a day. She is super annoyed at me getting her on the beta train 🤣

Yea. It’s odd. I’m write It up next time and get screenshots. .
Guessing that's Visual Voicemail? That's not so common in the UK, only on a couple of the networks here, sadly!

That, and Apple Cash & Apple Card, are things we're missing in the UK that I would like.

I have no music playing, yet in control centre it’s stuck on this instead of saying not playing, not having this issue on my iPhone, only my iPad, anyone else with a iPad have the same issue? Only way to fix it temporary is to open the music app and kill it in the background, then it comes back again after a short period of time. 🤦‍♂️

Anyone know how to fix it? Or is it a bug?

I had that in iOS 13 and 14. Tended to only say Not Playing after a reboot.

Yes I realize that I was only pointing out the randomness of it.. and how different it can be with the same exact phones , same carrier, same beta..we have already sent feedback from both phones..

maybe this should be pasted into the start of every new beta chat page, as default? 😆

Baffles me. I even deleted a few apps like telegraph which might have triggered phantom notifications I read… still does it. It definitely happened a lot more when I was in a hot country last week. That’s the only thing I can put my finger on. B6 will be the second beta into this bug occurring, so I’m hoping thats been enough time for a fix. But we might have to wait till final release… who knows bro.
