I have no idea what you are on about.
The changes in Photos, Messages and Spotlight alone are amazing.
Add to it the long overdue improvements to FaceTime, Focus modes, Wallet improvements, redesigned Notifications, Authenticator, etc…
Either we watched different presentations or you are hard to please.

Normally they would get away with some UI tweaks and a few new emojis.

iOS is pretty much perfect. No need for big changes. I'm happy Apple is not ruining it by adding random features that nobody needs. If you don't appreciate it, just try using an Android phone for a few days. I did. That's why I'm happy that iOS will stay the way it is for the foreseeable future.

Spoiler alert: iPad will always be an iPad. Macbook will always be a Macbook. Apple will not let iPad cannibalize Macbook sales by turning iPad into a Macbook, or vice versa.

I was thinking the same until I saw this list:

There are some nifty little things in there. I don't have any Airtags, but if the "separation alert" option works that's pretty cool.

Sure, this feels like iOS 14.8 but I was happy with iOS 14 and am glad Apple have focussed on consolidating that rather than coming up with something totally new, as it's only been a year since we've had widgets etc.

I don't have an iPad, but I reckon iPadOS is still a disappointment to many. Buy a laptop :)

This just makes the iPad a perfect companion for Mac users, nothing more nothing less.
But hey, a $999 Macbook Air now can provide seamless keyboard and trackpad input to an iPad.
Yesterday you had to pay $349 for that feature alone in Magic Keyboard form.

Only disappointment is iOS15 for iPad is basically just catching up with the iPhone, and because we are used to widgets and stuff on iPhone it doesnt feel as special, but its a great update, having widgets on Home Screen and App Library makes such a difference :D

In what way exactly; what’s the point of them, they are not interactive they are barely useful and the multitasking still sucks; the iPad is a toy; it’s still just a big iPhone, apple have screwed it up and everyone is agreeing

They still give decent information and some have interactions that help loads. They could defo be improved.

I feel like most of the new features are made for teenagers or young adults because I just cannot find a situation in which I would listen to music with someone over Facetime or bother to screen share while watching a movie. Maybe I am just old (32) but it makes no sense to me, especially now, that the pandemic related restrictions are being dropped across the globe.
Take a step back and realise the world doesn't revolve around you. Breathe. It's that easy kid.

No they are lazy, they don’t care about power users
Wouldn’t say lazy, problem is they don’t have any competition, so they’ll continue to roll out features and new hardware at a snails pace, new iMac is a perfect example, thick enough for Face ID, still no fave ID and ProMotion won’t affect the battery since it runs on power, yep still no ProMotion

iPadOS 15 isn't the final version of iPadOS on the M1 iPad Pro. If anything, you'll probably make it to iPadOS 20. It boggles my mind why people thought Apple would do everything, right here right now. In the end, the M1 iPad is a fabulous product.

Also...
Rule #1 : Never buy a tech product for promised future features.
Rule #2 : Never buy a tech product when assuming what future features should be.

I can usually tell my non tech friends a "major" feature from a new release they would notice or use, like widgets last time... this time around, I still can't think of a single top feature that makes me say oh! You "have" to update because now you can do this.....

They could just have updated the apps themselves (facetime and maps) and call it a day.

Also.. at least the new wallpapers are cool, but this one.....at least the daytime version, geez.
