just caught up…. No issues with any of what being talk about. Only big noticeable thing that hasn’t been fixed is the storage read out. (Installed RC via IPSW > Finder)
Going do a wipe and set up new today.. seeing too much that I didn’t have on beta 8

Also handoff is worse than beta 8 but that never worked well to start with..taking the plunge and restore to new, report back later

For anyone with issues, it would probably be wise to do a wipe and set as new. The choice is up to you if you would do it now, or wait until Monday when we know for sure what build the general public has. At any rate, I would definitely backup the phone first, just in case, so you can go back. Then wipe with a computer(preferred) or the device and set it as new. Don't restore the backup here as that will only restore the bugs. Then see how it goes.

As a general rule, any major OS update, it is a good idea to start over, vs an upgrade.

My issue with iOS 15 is when I updated it, Instagram stopped playing sound in stories.
I checked my 12PM with 14.8 and it works perfectly fine.
Your issue honestly sounds more like an app issue than a system issue. Probably need to wait for IG to update their app to fully support iOS 15. It is not uncommon for some apps to misbehave on beta builds of a major .0 release, even with the RC. I am sure that IG can figure it out without any further action on your part.

Probably yes, otherwise, my 11 pro max works fine. No issues.

We probably won't find that out until the public release or until a security researcher runs a test on an updated device, as Apple doesn't post about security updates for beta/RC releases. Next Monday, it should show up here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201222
The build for the RC we have predates the pegasus exploit being reported, so unless time travel has been involved, not fixed. Likely see an RC2, or the public release will be a newer build.

I think I heard them say "new MagSafe wallet...." That seems lame.
The new MagSafe wallet has the AirTag tech built into it, the first gen doesn't.

Still no visual lookup for photos in the UK. WTF are Apple playing at??

I'm not surprised. I think it might be a server side change tho, so might start working at some point.

And is the same version as the GM…just saying.
GM's are not a thing anymore, replaced with RC.

I’m noticing that .. may be seeing RC2 ?
I would bet there will be an RC2, but maybe just for Pegasus, as not seen that this is in the RC we have (the kernel build was Mid August, well before this being reported). Or the public release will be a newer build (we've seen that before).

Having WiFi issues that I was not having on beta 8.. keeps dropping and going to LTE/5G.. iPads and other products not on this great RC is not having this issue. Yeah yeah I did resets.. this is not a Beta technically should be better
Not seeing this.

And that's exactly why there's a ~1 week gap between releasing RC to devs and to the general update. I gather most apps will get an update for iOS 15 before the public release.

Exactly. There will be an app update to sort this, as soon as the Devs have submitted it and it's been approved. If They're on the ball, it will be submitted once Xcode RC is available (I think it was as of last night, but not checked), so Apple will approve them for the App Store for Monday (maybe earlier).

This build has already been put on the phones that are shipping next week so there can‘t be an updated build release. There cannot be two versions of iOS 15.0. Any new update would have to be 15.0.1 or later.
You're a little wrong. We will likely see an RC2, although I think it will be purely for the Pegasus exploit. There will be a 15.0.1 purely for the iPhone 13's which has that fix too. We've had this happen before, where in the past we've gotten a second GM and the new iPhones got an iOS x.0.1 update, only those phones got them.

I suspect the music section will be fixed with 15.0.2 for all devices, only if they don't do it as part of 15.0.1 and stick that to all devices.

With regards to the Music section in Settings not loading/loading but then freezing.

I had this on both my iPhone and iPad. Since I had ~100GB of lossless music downloaded, I thought that was the culprit, but alas, deleting the music made no different.

I suspect something corrupted the music database, since deleting the itunes_control folder with iMazing fixed the issue.
Thanks for this. I also had an issue with AppleTV not showing thumbnails in my Library. Deleting itunes_control fixed it.

Surely not when this build has already been loaded on to phones that are sitting in warehouses.
Probably not, @Ansath is probably right, this late in the game, an RC2 will manifest itself as a 0.1 update. Remember how they botched iOS 14 this time last year? haha.

It’s happened many times before, where we got a second GM, and then on the release day of the phones, those devices for an x.0.1 release.

Edit: iOS 12.0 had 2 different builds…

The Total Unread does not match the totals of the Unread in the accounts.
Setting for “Fetch New Data” isn’t working like it is supposed to.
Deleting email on one device does not always trigger an update on a linked device.
I am also facing each of these issues.
I Have reported.
Have you?

I cannot view previously recorded clips from my Logitech Circle doorbell camera in the Home app after updating to the RC. I can still view these recordings on a device that I have not updated, it's still on 14.8.

How can the iCloud backup get corrupted? On Apple’s side or during your upload? Can this still happen nowadays?
This was a few years ago. Something probably happened on my iPhone running the beta as it was packaging the backup file. Apps would download on the new phone organized in their correct place but nothing would open.

I installed it. It’s nice to have the “full” release other than a beta. But 4.8 GB is kind of (KIND OF) a lot.
It's actually been this way, within reason for awhile now. I looked at the usage on my 12 pro and iOS 15 takes up 8.18GB of storage once installed. Operating systems have been growing in size for some now across the board. Windows 10 for example is like 20GB installed, haha.

THIS! Thanks a lot! This saved my day.
For all of you with this problem: just download iMazing (the free version works for this) and locate the itunes_control folder on your connected iPhone and than delete it. After that the music media will be resynced and the music settings will open again.

What exactly was the last 3 months for? iOS 15 was really just iOS 14 with a few new touch’s after 3 months of beta testing this thing should be mega stable, apple what are you playing at, I think 90% of apple fans are getting tired of apple right know software and hardware just isn’t what it used to be

I did this first thing in the am.. can report only thing I’m still seeing is the storage bug only my wifi and notifications seem to work again I’m letting it index but overall so far things seem to be much better.. it wasn’t that hard for me since I run my phone with minimal apps maybe 30 total but those with 200 plus apps may be a long process
