TBH, the whole Focus feature seems really over-engineered and bloated. Very un-Apple-like.Apple is turning easy things into a complicated and useless mess!

i like the crib sound — my wife's phone still does it))Yes, it is a hassle. I just found that it was more peaceful to set a schedule to go into bedtime mode 10 minutes after i normally go to bed and go off when I normally get....during the work from home days. Now that I go in randomly and get up much earlier on those days I will turn it off via the watch.
i'm honestly not sure. they were supposed to work just like in the picture in the article. that's how it worked for me. not sure what the issue was for you. do you set up your phones as 'new', or always restore from a previous device?I could never get notifications to stop showing up while on the device in DND. What was the magical thing except for actually disabling notifications?
I’ve done both. It was always a minor annoyance, though, when using the device. When locked it always did what I expected. I just didn’t like message notifications popping up regardless of the setting when using the device. Maybe this focus mode will help. dude, relax. first of all a lot of people do/did use this, despite the fact that you don't. i don't use it, but i can sympathize with those who do/did.This has got to be the most ridiculous thread I have ever read.
Literally everybody complaining over a feature that they think is used by everybody just because it's used themselves.
I myself have never used DND like the way it's described in this article or comments, does that mean everybody uses it like me? No, so why the hell does there have to be an uprising about this?
Also... I gotta ask, how in the world does this usage make any sense?! You want to be in DND when it's locked, but then you unlock your phone and get notifications and then lock again and go back to DND? How often are you on your device between locks that you require this feature? If you are on your phone for seconds between locks this doesn't make any sense to me. If you are on your phone a lot, how can a swipe to control centre and a tap be so insane to toggle off DND that it breaks you as a person?
I understand that if someone has a use case and that is removed that it is upsetting, but you also have the option to not update your device. You even have the option now to roll back
Just trying to save you a little time here, Macrumors may not be the site for you. This has got to be the most ridiculous thread I have ever read.

For one thing, DnD seems to be the only "focus" option that can automatically activate on a time schedule (e.g. during the night hours).
iOS and iPadOS 15 is the first time I am severely disappointed I updated my devices the first day possible. So far haven't found one thing I like about it, but my list of dislikes is quite long.
Same.Yikes, I basically left my iPad in this state permanently. This sucks..
