I’ve been quite lucky with the beta updates, however, after updating last night and first use today; overheating when sitting in my pocket and the battery has almost completely depleted.

Haven’t done anything new or different. I’m thinking a reboot might be in order.

Anyone else experienced what I’ve described?

I think 15.1 will be the next release
I wonder if we'll see an updated iPad Air this fall, or if they'll wait to release updated iPad Airs with the iPad Pros in the spring. If we see any updated iPads this fall, they could be holding back iOS 15.1 for those devices, meaning maybe we'll see 15.1 later this month/early Nov?

If 15.1 doesn't come within the next 1-2 weeks then I think we'll see a 15.0.2.

Thanks for that. Got a few things to check out now.

Was hoping for 15.0.2 today. Too many bugs to wait until November.

I wasn´t present before so I ask in a truly interested, respectful manner: how does it work?
First things first I’d like to say I appreciate your approach here. Far too many people get defensive when the whole point of this place is being helpful where you can and learning when you can’t. I appreciate you. 👍

Apple typically follows a very strict schedule when it comes to releases. There’s usually a target release date and they release however many betas it takes to get it as stable as possible when it goes public, which is why we see software bugs in official releases. If they were to target zero bugs in future releases instead, we’d probably not see a final version pushed until sometime next never.

And to add to this @B/D, sometimes there are known bugs in beta releases. Sometimes there are settings or configurations that aren't impacted while others are. Sometimes it can seem like you might be the only one with an issue, and you may be! Most likely not, though. Sometimes Apple specifically "breaks" something so that it can be tested. That's generally why people push back and say betas shouldn't be used on your daily driver.

Also, not only is there a predetermined schedule of beta releases, but sometimes a bug can be so bad that it warrants a second beta release in one week. Basically, Apple knows but none of us know, exactly, when a beta update will be released. That's why we're all speculating 😉

I guess this is more in reply to @chillip...

…and is it crazy to note that 99.9% of iPhone owners do not experience most of these bugs (or care/notice) since they are not power users like some on here?
Exactly. What you see here is the vocal minority. People come here to vent/discuss when they have a bug, which is what some of these threads are for. I like to come in when everything’s gravy and remind people that iOS is a blazingly fast, incredibly smooth and super powerful OS that works wonderfully 95% of the time.

Posting nothing but negative stuff paints an inaccurate picture for someone who may be here doing research before they purchase and I consider that a disservice.
