Hopefully Granny and Grandpa used Apple Maps for a successful journey!
Hopefully it knew the waze
(Terrible I know, but I crack myself up. No I do)
I would like to do this right now as AB is driving me crazy and battery drain on my iPhone 13 mini. There seems to be some confusion updating using Windows with the IPSW.
What works for me:
Download IPSW and save to desktop.
Connect iPhone to iTunes and if there is an new update iTunes will ask to download and install. Click cancel.
While holding the Shift key, click check update.
A window will open up and then navigate to desktop, or where ever you saved the IPSW.
Click on the IPSW and iTunes will start extracting the file.
Caution: During the extraction iTunes will prompt your phone for the password. If you don't enter the password within
a few seconds, it will throw a default and say unable to update and you'll have to start all over. Once the password is entered, every thing else is automatic.
After update, turn phone off after a couple of minutes and back on. I've had zero problems and data loss using this method.
If downgrading to a previous IOS version the same exact procedure works, 0% data loss.
Seeing no beta this week. My guess is iOS 15.2 will drop Monday to the public. Then Tuesday iOS 15.3 beta 1 drops with UC. ?

I think you are 100% correct.
Don’t forget Apple is a few betas ahead. So those bugs might be fixed already. And we know Apple releases buggy OS too.15.2 is still a terrible. Needs more betas!
Yup, it used to happen a lot with .X releases prior to iOS 14.Nothing say that Apple have made it a permenant thing with iOS 14.Without an RC version?. Is that possible?.
We've seen it go from a horrible beta to a much better RC, so no, we don't necessarily need more betas.15.2 is still a terrible. Needs more betas!
I have been looking at the different methods to enter the recovery mode on the iphone, but none of them mention the one I use, and I discovered by chance, because they all indicate that the phone should be turned on, and I do it with the phone turned off.
consists of connecting the phone to the computer while holding down the power button. you have to keep it until the recovery screen comes out, and iTunes will detect it. In the pop-up message that says that if you want to update or restore you can close it, and you can use the downloaded ipsw file to restore or update, as needed, with the shift + update or restore button, as needed. The file browser will come out and you look for the ipsw file and if we confirm the action it begins to carry out the process. all this is under windows, the part of itunes, the input method is independent of the computer we have.

Yea, I’m going with Tuesday at earliest before we see something.Doubt it. Maybe Cupertino will still be in holiday vibe next Monday.

I really want to be back on 15.1.1 but I lost all of my health data when I went back earlier this week and I just didn't wanna worry about taking a chance with losing it for good so I went back to beta 3 and I still didn't get everything back. The auto-brightness thing is probably the worst beta bug I've experienced; it's terrible.Restored back to iOS 15.1.1 and wow battery at half day use I still have 70% remaining using iPhone 13 mini. When I was on 15.2 beta 3 or beta 2 battery was terrible and use to get at half day left around 40% remaining. I hope Apple brings out more betas for 15.2 bc it’s crap and I was so frustrated with AB lol.
Oh forgot to mention no more apps refresh in multitask!!
Thank God now everything works butter smooth.
Can’t wait to see what Apple brings with beta 4 this week!

Meh, at this point I'd say it's almost a certainty that we'll see an updated build this week so I'd rather just tolerate it for the next few days. Not worth the time + effort.Try logging out of iCloud. Delete data when prompted, then your phone will pull all that data back onto it. Worked for another guy on here.
