So at this rate—with 15.5 beta 1 presumably dropping roughly a week after 15.4 public—do you guys think the most recent 15.4 changes will be rolled into the first 15.5 beta or will we be getting bits and pieces (modem and security definitions etc.) from prior versions?

Since the 15.4 final is the same as the RC—which by now is getting a bit long in the tooth—I don’t see why Apple would include anything more antiquated but I suppose we soon shall see.

It's possible that 15.4 build 19E241 is what's being forked into 15.5 build 19Fxxx'whatever when it comes out, yeah. Not to start a whole thing about build numbers again (because I'm being lazy on a Friday afternoon), but I'm not sure then if 15.5 would be something like build 19F242 or higher? Do you mean?

And what news do you think iOS 15.5 will have? I think that from now on, we will see more bug fixes and stability than new features. Over there I read that iOS 16 has been in development for months, so now I suppose there will be an internal restructuring of the development teams to speed up iOS 16.

Unless things have gone off the rails, we may see the long anticipated drivers license/Apple wallet thingy. I will not be terribly shocked, however, if we don’t see that. Also, as someone noted, we’re still “owed” the classical music app.

Knowing squat about build numbers I’m also not trying to get into anything but I think I recall seeing something on here about a forked (X.x) build sort of “resetting” the numbering since the letter after the primary version number changes? I wouldn’t be surprised, however, if this is wrong and there is a way to track build numbers across two different X.x versions. Feel free to chime in, anyone who knows.

But yes you basically answered my question in the first sentence—it’s also my (hopeful) feeling that 15.5 beta 1 will be a fork of the most recent and up-to-date 15.4 final.

@sorgo Need your help to test out the iOS beta’s on the 1TB iPhone 13 Pro Max. Which one are you choosing 😈😈

My wife and I both have iPhone 12 Pro’s and battery life has been horrendous. We’re both having to charge again by 3-4pm as opposed to making it until evening to charge overnight. I’ve had a couple days where I’ve been down to 30% by noon.

Ip12 Pro here with no issues. Hard restart?

Yeah, all the normal troubleshooting other than restoring.
You using cellular or WiFi most of the time?

Realized using cellular recently does drain the battery a little bit quicker than before, maybe another modem firmware update is needed. ?

WiFi this morning, 92% ? left, 1h43m usage. ?

I’m almost always on wifi. I’ll probably just try restoring my phone at some point this week.

I’d gladly accept either the graphite or silver 13 pro as compensation 🥰

I’d send it back if i got sent swamp green. Be like holding a Lilly pad to your ear. 😆😂

Let’s see shall we for this week. And let’s hope just the bugs alone mentioned in the last couple of pages for some people get fixed.

Personally I might sit this one out with a nice big box of popcorn 🍿 and watch the drama unfold.

Hey gang: not a lot of speculating going on here but a lot of stuff that belongs in the 15.4 thread.

Let’s get this back on track, shall we?
What’s that marvelous big brain of yours thinking? iOS 15.5 beta 1 dropping tomorrow?
