Haven’t really been around much because iOS 15 is so stable and pretty boring. Just feel like I don’t have a ton to say about it.

But, also, using this website on Safari absolutely destroys my phone’s battery. Like, just using macrumors for five minutes makes my iPhone 12 mini physically get hot. It’s crazy. Hope that gets fixed at some point…it was never an issue prior to the iOS 15 betas.

As far as Beta 3…a small part of me thinks it could be released in a little over two hours, but most likely tomorrow or maybe even Thursday.

Oh yes, now I remember. This might be what is keeping you away from the forums. By any chance, are you able to isolate this happenstance to a particular device model? I ask because I do not have this issue on iPhone 8. I did not feel a hit to the battery like you mentioned.

have you tried downloading the Firefox focus app and using the content blockers? I don’t get any heat or battery drain on here.

In fact seen improvement to my battery stability and longevity since using.

I am sure he must be using content blockers. Oh @s2mike, on that note, would you kindly try changing your content blocker and see if that resolves the issue for you? It might be Safari and the content blocker combination. I am using Adblock Pro for Safari on both macOS and iOS.

Install content blockers, it's the website going rogue on you with scripts.

It's not isolated to any device models, it's tied to the website being crappy with script usage (ads etc). There's even a topic about it somewhere on here with the site admins acknowledging the issue from a few weeks ago.

Yes, there is that issue going on. But I moved my thinking from device to content blocker now, I am sure he is using some or the other blocker, so it might be that his blocker of choice is having issues with the site. (@arn, for your investigation, those having issues might, just might, be having a common thread of one content blocker)

I am speculating all this only because I am not facing this issue with MR on my device using the content blocker I mentioned. I do not know, but I think it does deserve a look.

Working from home has really ruined the productivity and creativity of the iOS team.

I suspect it is the consumer that paid (and continues to pay) for new iPhones with software that comes with launch-day bugs, new and highlight features delayed by months, bugs that are not fixed for generations of iOS, that is at fault here. Not the developer team.

I refuse to believe the developer team is being paid top dollar for sitting idle and dilly-dallying around with iOS, not fixing things comprehensively, not giving the whole interface a radical refresh, etc. I refuse to believe that. I think they are being paid to create potential and possible wow features that would make people pay for a new iPhone year after year, and that is much of it. A little goes in maintenance of code, hence we see some bug fixes.

Otherwise, why would flagship devices not get fixes to glaring bugs for months? Do we really think the Apple developer team is that incompetent to be collectively unable to fix bugs for months? Seriously? Again, I refuse to believe that. The team has to be wildly talented, it is just that their energies are being misappropriated, I'd say.

I’ve been using 1Blocker for a while and have been happy with it overall.

Tim Cook pushed the wrong update Button 🤦‍♂️ Beta 3 has been delayed because of a crappy 5W MagSafe battery pack that cost $139 🤦‍♂️😂

Get your act together Timmy boy or you won't be in charge for much longer. 🙄😂

$139? Are you talking USD, CAD or AUD? I have long posited that we should use the currency abbreviations and stop the use of generic $ so as to help members immediately understand the currency we are referring to, unless the symbols are clear, such as the case with Yen, Euro, Pound, etc.

Ad block pro hey. 🤔

I need a good free content blocker for macOS, is ad block pro free? 🤔😂

If only Mozilla would bring their focus app to the Mac.

It used to have a one-time pricing, but is now a rental to new users. I do not recommend renting an ad blocker. No. Please look into others according to your comfort level. I don't like my blocker to have obscene amount of settings, I just want enough settings that allow me to tweak things to perfection if need be. I would prefer a blocker where the need does not arise.

Also, for me, a blocker must redo the CSS to remove the empty spaces where ads were supposed to show. So, in my knowledge, Adblock Pro for Safari and Wipr do this. I would love to know of other blockers that do this.

For blockers, you may check this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/what-ad-blocker-are-you-using.2274921/

There are more, too.

It’s not being delayed lol. ? Apple will have a schedule and this was part of it.

Seeing as we got 14.7 RC, I doubt we will get a 15 Beta today. Tomorrow or Thursday.

Definitely tomorrow or Thursday. I really hope they don’t go a full two-three weeks without a beta update, although it definitely has happened before. But this only being beta 2, it doesn’t make sense for it to go that long. Yes, this beta is pretty stable, but simple things like driving focus doesn’t work. We still don’t have auto reply for focus modes either. There are definitely some UI glitches as well. And there’s still for the last 3-4 iOS iterations, alarm sounds get stopped by phone calls.

Getting 14.7 RC today doesn’t have anything to do with the next beta for 15 coming this week. I doubt VERY seriously they will go 3 weeks between beta 2 and 3. Beta 2 hasn’t gone for more than 2 weeks since iOS 6
