The states indicate that history is extremely more likely to repeat itself, than not.

You’re setting yourself up to be disappointed….

Better to set a realistic expectation, then be happily surprised IF it beats that expectation, that to set a slightly unrealistic expectation and then be very disappointed (Since we have seen what your histrionics can be like ?)
The positive energy crew positively asks you to keep any negative comments regarding unlocking the happening bunker this week away from this topic, because it‘s this week.

Apple has historically announced new iPhones for their Back to School event, which has over time morphed in to just a new iOS/iPhone launch. Expect the announcement, along with the release of iOS 15, to be in September. Supply chain issues would only impact the hardware release.
Not true, really…iOS has always coincided with a hardware release…and even split when iPad OS was not ready to align with the new iPads. There is always SOME sort of hardware release that drives the iOS release, even if it is just a new watch coming out a month before the phone.

My guess is Apple will align better knowing the current restraints and that means a very late September release is possible, but not likely.

”Speculating” that final release is second week of October to align with product releases. ;)

Agreed to the odds. However Apple will also know that it is a stable beta.
Still what makes you say that Apple has to change its schedule to make it weekly.
It might be that their original plan is for weekly. Although I support that it is highly unlikely.
Beta 4 being a stable beta has never factored into it before. There’s been various iOS releases that people were saying Beta 3 onwards were stable, but still 2 weekly.

Last year’s release was abnormal, with the watch coming out when it did. COVID related effects on hardware. I think we could see similar this year.

Hmm you may be right but most analysis are banking on the third week of September. I’m excited for the watch not so much of the iphone as I already have the 12 PM But with the recent COVID issues around the world you may be spot on

I non-sarcastically love this thread, which is why I participate in it.

It really is “a thread about nothing” (guesses on guesses on guesses…) in the great Seinfeldian tradition.

What it’s really about is the passion/excitement of a bunch of Apple nerds…which is what—for the most part—makes it fun!

I feel like there will be a new beta this week based on absolutely nothing but my hopes and dreams…

AFAIK they only delayed iPadOS once for iPadOS 13 (which came a week later with 13.1).

Pretty sure that was also only due to 13.x being a gigantic mess due to the sanctions fearmongering forcing them to finalize iOS 13 earlier.

With that being said, it’s today. My nerdy senses are tingling ??

How’s your beta release chart thingy coming along?

if you have the data of Dev & Public releases… dates, I’ll figure out weeks in between and show that, when we started weekly’s so we’ve got an easy read chart to see date release of betas, weeks on each beta and when the weekly’s start, RC and final release for us all to look back on. If you don’t mind sharing. I’d probably only go from ios10 to be honest, any further back and it’s all very old Apple process internally.

it’s along the thinky bits chart idea, just clearer to see data fast. Hurts my head trying figure stuff out on that chart.

10am Cali time means it’s 8pm Greece… dammit Tim, I’ve got dinner reservations then. Can you hold it now till next Tuesday.

Could always do a sly one under the table though ?
Just saw on my local news Greece has copped a heatwave, people cooking eggs on the concrete ?? 43 degrees ?

Think the servers over there will be melted by the time the beta comes out. ?

I only started it based on the current iOS 15 release since it doesn't look like the detailed data is actual released (other than copying the limited data from the Thinky Bits chart into a different format). The info for this beta is in the first post of this thread.

They stopped signing 14.7 yesterday and last week they released beta 4 the day after they stopped signing 14.6, so maybe today?? ?
You might want to look at when they stop signing a release in relation to when the release that replaces it was released. That’s more likely.

iOS 14 releases stopping being signed has no bearing on iOS 15 betas, just coincidentally.

Apple might release this week and be one of the rare years where weekly started with beta 5, or it’ll more likely be released next week and then weekly after that.
