Ignore. Apparently we can’t ask the same question twice in a thread.

As I mentioned above, the Journal app appears to be getting much better at pushing topics for potential entries. It’s now suggesting locations I‘ve visited, podcasts I’ve listened to, photographs I’ve taken, as well as suggesting different writing prompts. it’s starting to resemble what was shown at WWDC.

I do have to say that I am amused about it, suggesting my “Monday afternoon outing to Wendy’s” as a topic. But I guess I would, rather it was overinclusive than under, as it was during beta 1.

Has anyone had an issue with FaceTime being terrible since the previous beta, I hope it would fix itself on the .2 but mines just as bad, rebooted installed from MacBook not OTA,

Would anyone mind checking to confirm that this bug in the Music app is still present in iOS 17.2 (I’m sure it’ll still be there, but I gotta ask):

After you remove an album from your library, the album disappears from the “Recently Played” section in the Listen Now tab. And then, even if you listen to the album again afterwards, it won't reappear under “Recently Played”.

To check this, simply:

• Add any album to your library

• Play a few seconds of a song so that the album appears under “Recently Played”

• Delete the album from your library

• The album no longer appears in the “Recently Played” section. Even if you listen to the album in the future, it will never again appear under “Recently Played”.
This got posted immediately after the beta was released, so I’m guessing most people missed it… was hoping someone could check this if they have an extra 30 seconds.

Thanks!

I have an ongoing iOS 17 bug which is a show-stopper if you use the ‘paste edits’ action in the Photos app regularly:

In the Photos app, open a photo which has both 'live' mode and 'portrait mode' applied.

Make 6 or more visual edits to the photo and apply.

Use the 'more' action (ellipsis icon) on the top-right to select 'copy edits'.

Select 30 photos which have 'live mode and portrait mode attributes and 'apply edits'.

Try to share one of those newly edited 'live' portrait' photos via the share sheet to any app (Messages, Mail, Airdrop...)

The attempt to share gets stuck in the 'processing' dialogue forever - the user cannot share.

The system will eventually, after maybe an hour, get past the bug.

Just submitted the bug report:
FB13356274 (Cannot send photo via share sheet after pasting edits to multiple ‘live’, ‘portrait’ photos)

Was on a three way FaceTime yesterday evening (I was the only one with 17.2 DB2) and it was fine.

I jumped from stable 17.1.1 to 17.2 DB2 mostly to check if it finally fixes the wifi problems (mostly short disconnections that forces me to toggle OFF/ON the wifi on the iPhone) that I've been experiencing since the beta-testing of iOS 17 this summer (and please, don't tell me "which issues?", unless you've been living in a cave, it has been covered in the media recently here or here, for example).

So far so good, no major bug and decent battery life on an iPhone 12 with 87% battery health.
Hopefully wifi issues are history, but right now it's too early to tell.

Is it unusual that there’s no public beta yet for beta 2?

No. We are still on the two week release schedule and during that time the public beta is typically released one (or more) days after the developer beta. Once we get on the one week schedule (likely next Thursday), the two betas should be released on the same day.

I would anticipate the public beta later today.

iPhone 15 Plus

Camera is basically unusable. When I take a single photo, the camera app freezes, like it doesn’t go back to the viewer and super laggy. When I press the zoom buttons, it does nothing and suddenly the OS seems to catch up and tries to do 5 tasks at the same time

Edit: I think it is somehow related to location services. When I deactivate location services for the camera, the camera works as expected!

My WiFi speeds are improved after going to 17.2 DB2...

Still having wifi issues. very frustrating. my corp device, an iphone 12, is fine. It’s my iphone 15 that is struggling.

Prime example that just happened. ran a speedtest and it just was stuck on this screen. had to disconnect and reconnect for it to work.
