I just got an account recovery method needed pop up. I already have this setup and a recovery contact. Seems to be erroring out when I add a contact or try to add my recovery key.

Also, I hate how I can’t make the badge disappear on my settings. Anyone else seeing this?
Same problem here. I created a new key and it says incorrect key every time I type or paste it in to verify.

I got the account recovery method notification this morning. I already have a recovery key set up. I called
Apple Support, they are aware of the problem and it is being escalated. I wish I could get the badge removed for my settings as well.

😂 I’m like the sound of the performance boost… but wouldn’t take that over a bad battery.
I'm about to jump on as well. No trips coming up. I can take a small battery hit. I charge at diff times during the day anyway.

Might remove account recovery and update. :)

Battery has been good for me. Here is today. Other than a 5-10 minute stint on the car charger, I’ve been off charge for 10.5 hours and still at 62%.

Haha. I just knew you couldn’t resist Pearsey! Nor could I - installed last evening 😵‍💫

Edit: no problems so far, but must admit being recently retired I don’t use the iPhone as much nowadays..

So the official release of 17.2 is good?
Up until I posted that comment. That very day, it was crap. But may have been the service I was on. Can't recall what I was using. But yes, it was golden after the official 17.2. Just installed 17.3 B1, so no more testing for me. Hoping this is even better.

I'm running 17.2 on my primary device and 17.3 beta 1 on a test device. I tried to turn on Contact Key Verification on my test device running 17.3 beta 1, but I get a Devices Issues error stating I need to update my Apple ID settings on my test device running 17.3 beta 1. I would assume the newer build wouldn't be an issue with turning this one. Anyone else seeing something similar?

I was able to resolve my problem with the account recovery method notifications. I had the message on my iPhone 14 Pro and my MacBook Air. First I signed out of my Apple ID on my phone, then I signed back in to Apple ID, went into settings, my name at the top, sign in & security, account recovery. Then I added a new recovery key.

Then I did the same thing on the Mac. It worked on both devices. The badges on the settings app are gone too.

To be honest, 17.2 is the first release since the 16 releases that has been really good for me. My WiFi is now actually good on the 15 Pro Max…actually maybe a bit better than it was on the 14 Pro Max.

Your mileage may vary, but from my perspective 17.2 is great. Wish it could have been 17.0 but we got there eventually.
