Surprised no one has mentioned that stickers are broken in this beta. They don’t display and I see blank space. If I tap on the blank space, the sticker that is supposed to be there does appear in the message. What a weird bug.

Settings > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification > Apple Call Identification - this is new no?

Fortunately, iOS 17 has been great with respect to Bluetooth in general and in my Audi when connected to my iPhone 15 Pro.

That’s great to hear! And indeed my AirPods Pro seem to work much better / connect faster than with my 14 Pro. Of course I’m using them a lot more since my shiny new iPhone locks up the bluetooth system in two of my cars…

What Audi, out of curiosity?

2019 A4; if you have one, and are having Bluetooth issues, have you force reboot the mmi?

Don’t have an Audi (at least not anymore, had a ’98 B5 2.8 Quattro, but that had a carphone 😂). This is happening on both of my 2011 BMWs, a E90 335i and an F10 528i.
Have tried many, many troubleshooting steps (including a full integration software update at BMW and swapping in a known-good bluetooth module).

Thread for anyone interested in what many of us have been going through with the 15 Pro…

No offense, but is it reasonable to expect Apple to continue to support Bluetooth protocols in 8+ year old vehicles? Just because they may have done it to this point doesn’t mean they need to continue to do so indefinitely.

Considering it’s a Bluetooth standard, yes. By definition Bluetooth is meant to be backwards compatible. Advertising support for Bluetooth version x means your device supports all versions prior to that.

It’s entirely possible for new cars to use that protocol version, too, BTW. There’s some brand-new VWs (like the ID4) and Infinitis (a QX90) experiencing the same issue.

Plus, on my 14 Pro running the same iOS version, everything is just fine.

Woops, I’ma little late to the party!

I’m eager to read your impressions, but one I’ve consistently read from you (and dear old Zollo agrees) is that animations are definitely snappier and smoother.

I suspect this build has more work behind than the previous versions, so now all it remains is to see how battery behaves.

I cannot believe no one has mentioned the biggest change for Siri since its introduction with the iPhone 4S yet.

SIRI IS MULTILINGUAL NOW FOR READING MESSAGES IN OTHER LANGUAGES!!!!

https://9to5mac.com/2024/01/25/ios-17-4-siri-read-messages-languages/

Reason enough for me to install the beta honestly.

Very good point. And you can choose a language regardless of what your device language and region is.

Hopefully a portent of big things to come in 2024 for Siri.

Side loading for UK?

To put this to rest once and for all, here are the countries where the new app process (aka sideloading) will be available:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

Neither am I (Norway), but we tend to get everything that befalls the "EU" regardless. In most scenarios, everyone outside of Europe tackles everything regarding the European Union as affecting the whole of Europe.
We will see that in the end everything is going to be implemented throughout the EU, from Spain we are waiting to see what is implemented!!

You're a crack!!!👍🏻

Here an article on how Apple is going to implement user access to side loading.

I have read the article on 9to5mac, we will have to wait for the next beta to see the substantial changes, at least that's what I hope. :guay:👍🏻👍🏻 And the development of side loading.

I'm in love with the Apple ecosystem and I wouldn't like to get out of it, it has to be a very interesting app to do the sideload. 🥸🥸😃
