I had this section appear in my privacy & security settings after changing my region to somewhere in the EU, it doesn’t have an icon unlike the other ones

Restoring does not erase the eSIM unless you specifically erase the eSIM when prompted.
The eSIMs are stored on a separate chip that survive restores.
That has been covered time and time again.
If I restore from the mobile, yes, it asks you, but in this case the ideal is to restore with the ipsw file with iTunes. and that's how you lose the esim, it already happened to me once.

It is possible that this will be related to the possibility of contactless payments using applications other than Apple Wallet
Yes, the EU changes indeed include opening up NFC to everyone, as well as exposing other “system features” (Apples description was nebulous) to apps offered there, on a case by case basis

Oooh I see it too! Sounds promising
(My iCloud Account is from the US but my Store is with a German AppleID)

edit: my region is shown as „unknown“. I hope that is just a beta 1 bug

There is a section called „improve AR location proximity“ (or something like that in English) at the bottom of the Analytics sections. This is new as well no?

I assume that's currently showing for everyone. I have a few Apple IDs but none of them are for a country in the EU, nor do I live in one.

I’ve seen one post stating that he can now sync his phone to his Mac. Have any others seen this now work with 17.4?

I still have to do a workaround. I'm hoping macOS 14.4b1 helps - Edit - 14.4b1 does not help.

17.4 is a battery killer. I had to restore to factory defaults and restore from my backup, back to 17.3. I may wait for 17.4 to come out for everyone.

17.3 works fine. no significant battery wasters.

Also, 17.4 causes apps to not fail, or not perform correctly.

what's this Siri restart? Meaning you told Siri to restart or restarted Siri?
Ask Siri to restart your device, after a confirmation, your device will perform “normal” restart. This is different than a forced restart where the logic board loses power for a brief moment.

To me 17.4 has been buttery smooth with great battery life, I just posted in the Battery Health topic that 17.4 has been awesome battery wise.

I was on 17.3, charged to 80% limit, off the charger. Then downloaded 17.4, after 10h20min of usage I was at 19%. I call that phenomenal battery life! Im very happy how stable 17.4 is, its by far the most stable experience iOS 17.* have had so far. This is so stable and polished, it feels like this is what stable 17.0 shouldve been. Apple has done great job!

Hello, could someone test smoothness of animations during active dynamic island? I am facing animation stutter during music playback. I am using iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 17.3.

Buttery smooth on 17.4, 15PM.
iPhone 15 Pro and CarPlay is at times a stutter fest.

Was “buttery smooth” on 17.3 for me and I recently wiped my iPhone, setup 17.3 RC as new and then installed 17.4 DB1 when it came out.

There are also intermittent stutters here and there outside of CarPlay.

I cant say anything about car play since I dont have a car, or even drivers license.

Hi all. 13pro, 17.3. I have black Beats Fit Pros. Since 17.3 the little dropdown popup below the notch upon connection shows white buds. Anyone else seen this? Is it still in 17.4? Thanks

On my iPad the region is shown as unknown but on my iPhone it is shown as BE.
