Yeah I should been a bit more clear. I was referring to web page being able to exist independently from Safari like the this example. To me that’s the real power of PWA’s.

I know what a PWA is and yes, that is indeed how MR works:

Last nights battery drain was much less thankfully. Seems to be settling down and battery performance improving

Pretty unsurprising since that’s the way it works more or less after every major update. There are builds and users where the battery impact is worse than others.

Glad it seems to be resolved.

Web Apps indeed still work in the EU by the way. I made the mistake of adding the MR home page to the Home Screen (which only acts as a safari browser tab) instead of the forum (didn’t think it would matter). Wasn’t aware that only the forum was a „web app“.

Actually blows my mind haha now I can receive push notifications without always opening safari and refreshing the page 🤯

people are saying that this notification bug got fixed. For me I didn’t have it before. And now it’s much worse.

I have a gap in the notifications. And the notifications are initially square and only round when you swipe.

I actually had to turn them off hahaha… too many notifications. I guess I can filter them, but I don’t want to miss any on the webpage.

Significant battery drain overnight on my 15 Pro after installing 17.4 (always in low power mode overnight) hopefully this settles down after indexing etc finishes. Worst than the 17.4RC last week 🙈😃
The same with my 14 Pro - re-installed via the IPSW last night (Wed). We'll see.

15PM here and battery all good, through all the 17.4 betas and now the general release. But I do restart my devices the day after a new release of any kind. I’ve only ever experienced a battery issue due to a misbehaving app. That was a long time ago.

15 ProMax. OTA update.

Battery - sucks. Hoping after finishing all of the “things” for an update it improves.
Apple Watch Notifications > mirrored to 15PM and most are not working. Tried off/on/reboot and still having issues. I do get the Notifications on the 15PM however they are not mirrored on the watch.

UPDATE: No clue as to the reason but Notification mirrored from my 15PM started showing up on my AWU starting a couple of hours ago. So far Proton Mail, Outlook, and Teams are working just fine. Messages however is still broke.

Here is to hoping it continues to repair itself. However that is happening. ;)

battery on my iPhone 15 Plus also seems to be taking a hit. I easily finished the day with like 50% (only charging it til 80%) and it wouldn’t drop to 30 until noon the following day.

Now it’s not even 11 pm and it’s at 38%.

This is taking me back to my iPhone 12 PM on iOS 16 😵‍💫
If iOS 18 is even heavier on the battery (and if there are many more AI features, that’s likely), I see myself getting stuck on iOS 16 which works like a charm on my A15 device.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to carry a spare charger rather than forego useful features and security fixes simply so you have more battery left at the end of the day?

Completely agree with you on this one. Sometimes I feel like we are spending $1200 on a phone and then work diligently hard to save a $100 battery which will work well for at least 2 years. I am in the camp of enjoy your $1200 iPhone and take advantage of all its features. Heck with spending most of the iPhone time worrying about battery life.

2 years? I am still using a launch day XR and have 85% health on it. I use it and fully charge it daily. Leave on charger all night while sleeping. (with optimize on) Hit 1000 cycles today and 82% actual capacity according to battery stats. So yeah use the phone and charge it when needed. Then at some point buy another battery or get a newer phone. :)

Hello friends,

Since iOS 17.4 I can't connect to my Samba Debian server via smb:// with the integrated file manager. The same problem also exists with iPadOS 17.4. If I use the app FileBrowser Pro the connection can be established without any problems. MacOS 14.4 does not cause any problems either. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

What SMB Version are you using?
I just tested it with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and with my iPad Pro M1 and I can connect to my Synology and to my Microsoft Fileserver via Samba without issues.

What SMB Version are you using?
as Min SMB2, but again, with iOS 17.3 no problems

Here is a part of the smb.conf
Code:
[Global]
workgroup = WORKGROUP
security = user
encrypt passwords = yes
client min protocol = SMB2
client max protocol = SMB3
vfs objects = fruit streams_xattr
fruit:metadata = stream
fruit:model = MacSamba
fruit:posix_rename = yes
fruit:veto_appledouble = no
fruit:nfs_aces = no
fruit:wipe_intentionally_left_blank_rfork = yes
fruit:delete_empty_adfiles = yes
fruit:time machine = yes

My battery chart doesn’t show Apple music usage. I have this bug from the beginning of iOS 17. I’ve been listening to music for 1,5h this morning while it shows only 15 minutes in the background. Why? Is anyone have same issue?
P.s. I checked my Apple Watch to be sure it wasn’t streamed from the watch but no. Clearly iPhone was a source.
