My iPhone 15 PM gets extremely hot while charging (it wasn’t like that in 17.3.1 and 17.4 RC release) tried restarting, reseting all settings, and hard restarting. it’s not getting any better!
Keep in mind that I have no apps doing a backup in the background 😑.

UPDATE: had to do factory reset to solve the problem, now my iPhone is charging at cool temp.

What’s very odd it that my battery last night charged to 90% even though it’s set to the 80% limit.
I´ll see what happens tonight.

For all these "bad battery" posts have a look at what apps are causing it then deal with it. In my case, mail was running in background constantly showing 3 hrs or so of usage after the update. Killing mail app and restarting device resolved it. Battery is normal again now. Perhaps other apps are causing same issues.

This update brought me back shortcuts that disappeared from share sheet on 17.4 RC.

Face ID animation still has that weird 1-2s delay.

iCloud tabs aren’t working properly across my iPhone and iPad both on 17.4. iCloud tabs on my iPad shows a tab open on my iPhone that is actually closed for example.

Same use I do every day. Was at 9x% when I updated. A few hours later I was at 28% when usually I am around 50-60%. It was during this time when I noticed that Notification mirroring to my AWU went fubar.

17.4 betas were never good on my 15PM - it’s a beta. This is the worst I have seen since I activated it.

does anyone STILL have those pesky wi-fi problems? I've had systematic disconnections after barely a minute for months now...

I have had this issue during the whole 17.4 betas and now with the release version.
I had my iPhone on 17.4 beta 2 and iPad on 17.3.1, and iCloud tabs weren’t working properly. I thought (and hoped) it was due to the mismatch of operating systems between the devices which would resolve when both were on 17.4 public release.

I’ve reported, FB13677268.

Also happening to me but between my Mac on Sonoma and my iPhone, I don’t have an iPad.
But gonna be honest that feature was always buggy to me, not just only on iOS 17 or MacOS Sonoma, so I don’t pay that much attention if it’s working correctly.

Not sure if iOS 17.4 caused this but when in iMessage Show/Hide alerts are not syncing across any of my devices. MacBook, iPhone, 2 iPads. Share Focus works, but I would have to manually hide alerts on a conversation in iMessage on each device.

All devices are up to date. I even made messages "Unread" and I can see that it auto syncs.

Anyone else experience this? Or am I overthinking this and it never was a thing that shared across all the devices? Tried rebooting and closing/opening Messages.

No, for the longest time you had to have 50% on your iPhone. I know this because I've gotten that message before when I tried to update and my iPhone has been under 50%...
50% off charge, 20% on charge for some time now. Were you on charge?

Square notifications are still in, have had them on both RC and stable.

MR supports PWA. Been using it exclusively on my iPhone for push notifications and co. ever since they added notification support for PWAs to iOS.

It was a bit finicky to set up (if I recall correctly, one had to be on the index page of the forums for it to work).

Yeah I should been a bit more clear. I was referring to web page being able to exist independently from Safari like the this example. To me that’s the real power of PWA’s.

Curious to know if anyone has over ~4000(or +) contacts\address book within their iCloud synching to the iPhone on iOS 17.4? There was an issue\bug where the large amount of contacts would impact performance dramatically (can't even make a phone call!), stemming from iOS 17.2.

Bit of a niche scenario as the iPhone would also have to be managed with an enterprise MDM/UEM solution but I see in the iOS 17.4 Release Notes, that it has now been resolved. https://support.apple.com/en-us/118102

From my personal testing, while performance has indeed improved, as with battery life (I can now make phone calls, use Whatsapp, etc) - performance within the mail client, Outlook, is still not "up to scratch". It would hang for 5-10 seconds every few minutes or so.

It's most likely more so Outlook isolated, but just keen to see if anyone else was in the same boat.

That’s what we’re talking about. That’s available for the MacRumors Forum, not the main webpage, at least in my experience. Try to add the Forum Home page to the iPhone homescreen, and you’ll have the MacRumors Forums WebApp, with notifications and all.

I can no longer search for an app by swiping down on the Home Screen and typing in the search bar. Used to just be able to type "X" and it would pull up twitter.
