iOS 17.3 is running great on my 13pro 256GB EU phone.
Haven't digged deeper into cycle-counts and other stats but the device is + 2 years old so guessing I have around +500 at least charging the phone daily.

Since usage pattern vary a lot, mixed 3G/4G/5G, mostly 4G, WIFI5 and WIFI6 networks, using it as a hotspot and a number of BT and local network devices communicating its hard to say if its better or worse than earlier releases. But considering battery wear and a heavier load on the device I'd say the device performs very well.

I can only imagine about battery like this on my iPhone 15 pro. You lose much less battery than I do. Yesterday I was mostly on LTE and that’s the problem. Especially that usually I have 3 or only 2 signal strength bars. Nevertheless I’ve never had that bad battery. I know that Tesla is high in that chart but previously I had 13 mini. Yes I had to charge it at the evening but I feel it was keeping battery % way better. So iPhone 15 Pro could have bad antennas or iOS 17 is a trash. Maybe both because I bought and tried regular 15 to check „old” a16 chip and to be honest I didn’t see much difference between these two. Yes I had non pro only for few days but they were too close to force me to change them.
P.S. I have to mention that I am still on 17.2.1. Moreover last 5-6 years I was using cars with a CarPlay. Non of them had wireless one. So every time (ok like 90% times) when I was getting in I plugged my phone. Maybe I am just used to high battery levels just because of that.

So were you having the same setup/config on your 13 mini with the same apps? And what OS version did you use on the 13mini?

Now I know its a pain in the a** to torubleshoot but it would be interesting if you could use the 13mini with the same setup as your 15 pro (same OS, same apps etc) just to see if you can reproduce the issues.
The battery statistics lacks so much info and is making it hard to draw any conclusions.

I have been mentioning it in a few threads earlier but I had a bug in a earlier iOS version that possibly made me swap phones cuz I thought it was a crap battery in my old XS. My issue back then was that I had deleted the fitness app (wasn't using it) and a process went bananas causing batterydrain when it couldn't find the app.

Not saying its whats causing your issues but more to give an example that one app can mess up things quite badly.

I would recommend that you contact apple and provide them with some logs that tells them whats going on behind the scenes. Or maybe its just a faulty device and the logs will make them replace it for you.

My iPhone 13 mini has never been on iOS 17. So that could be a point. But apps were same. I also used reddit a lot Tesla etc. I called Apple and asked about checking antennas but they said they are fine. Maybe I will try again.

Hope you get it solved. In my case I can only thank the fella that digged into this and found this particlular issue, that person prob helped heaps of people having the same issue.
Maybe logs from your phone will help developers at Apple or somewhere else fixing their product.

But you make a good point regarding Carplay and hooked up to it with a cable. Its easy to forget that you actually charge the phone when using it. I do miss having Carplay, the current car I'm driving I'm back to good old BT which sounds ***** in comparisson.

I still think that's software issue. I will update iPhone to 17.3 today. Sometimes same app works fine the other that it makes iPhone warm under cameras. Ridiculous. Today I've lost 20% in one hour at home in really strong wifi range.
I know. Some people say "hey that's not apple issue that's all app developers fault". Well maybe yes maybe not. I remember when Playstation 3 was announced as super advanced and a way better than Xbox. Unfortunately their chipset wasn't that easy to programming on. Maybe same thing we have right now on iPhones 15 and on iOS 17 at all. Apple tries to do something but forget that iOS 17 has to work also on old phones and at the end everyone complains. I don't know.

I remember when I had a iPhone 7 and with only 25% I survived 6-7 hours flight listening to music. Yes with airplane mode on and offline music but still. I am pretty sure that new iPhones with new software are not capable to do it.

I give up. A week ago I tried another fresh install (iOS 17.3) because my battery in 15 pro was awful. 5-5,5h sot on WiFi. After that it was great. Still 17.3. On WiFi I could get 8-10 hours. On lte/4g 5-5,5h. I really love that. Unfortunately I had a problem with one app few days ago. I was so scared to reset my phone. I turned it off and on (not hard reset). Thankfully nothing has been broken. But yesterday I had to do the same and immediately I discovered that battery is way worse. Moreover I saw „drops” on battery chart. That’s the sign that something wrong is happening. If it happens…well.
When I had these bad results these drops were visible all the time. No matter if it mobile data or WiFi. I am so so frustrated. I can’t reinstall my phone every week. It takes 4-5h maybe more to install every single app and log in to them. Plus Apple Pay cards and any other syncing things.

Under iOS 17.3.1 the battery on my iP15PM is not as good as under iOS 17.3.
It is like a coin toss. I hate it so so much.
Another drop on the chart
You can even compare last two day. Both on WiFi only (99%)
More or less same apps but battery usage so different

I got my iPhone 13 brand-new in April 2023. Battery health is still 100% and, touch wood, I haven't had any issues with battery life so far. I would say I'm a moderate to heavy user, too.

I’m getting terrible battery performance on my iPhone 12 with last iOS 17.4 beta. It stays the same and then drops significantly by over 8-9%. Hope its not a hardware issue.
Battery Health is 86%

Amazing! Thank you Apple for worsening my battery life by more than a half with just one iOS update 🥰

17.3.1 is a total dog *****. Thinking of going to 17.4 beta, hearing various positive opinions about battery life. How can they be so dumb and destroy battery life like this with a minor update?

I was driving this afternoon and thought my phone felt warm in my pocket. When I stopped and looked at it this is what I saw
