the battery life of my 14PM is very bad on 17.4.x, I've never had battery drain problems before but it's seems like 50% worse. I'm considering installing 17.5 beta as soon as it drops just because of that.
What system services do you have toggled on under location services? Also, which iCloud services do you have enabled which constantly sync to your iCloud? (Notes, calendars etc?)

I have the same issues, but with iPhone 15 PM, in my case I have notes, calendars (safari is disabled all on) and all the location services for Apple Data Analyse off... what do you think can it be?

Is there any way to monitor what is syncing the whole time maybe and draining the battery? (does XCode might help here)?

Under location services, Try enabling all the system services (except for the 3 under “Product Improvement”) including significant locations.

I’ve been doing some testing for the last couple of the days and when I disabled some of the system services that were so called unnecessary as per the advice of some YouTube channels etc, I experienced worse overall battery life. It sounds counterintuitive because it should be the opposite (disabling system services that access gps and location data = more battery usage) but from what I’ve experienced in the last couple of days it’s been the opposite so for now I left all system services (except for the ones under product improvement) including significant locations toggled ON and my battery life has been very good.

Does your iPhone’s battery last for the duration of your work day (morning to evening) if you leave the house with 100% in the morning?

my test was the same. but it is a very strange observation that after disconnecting certain services, the battery time decreased, and after restoring the factory settings, the "location and privacy" battery really lasts much longer. Now everythings on

It’s very interesting that you have noticed that as well. Do you have any of the system services under “Product Improvment” enabled or do you have these disabled as well? (iPhone analytics, routing and traffic, improve maps)

I had turned it off manually before, but after the factory reset, all the services you listed (according to their default settings) are all turned on

Does disabling any of these 3 “Product Improvement” services have any negative affect on battery life based on your testing? By default, “iPhone analytics” & “routing and traffic” are turned on but I see no reason to keep these 2 enabled as they provide no benefit whatsoever.

no. I didn't feel any difference whether it was on or off, the phone is working normally

That’s what I thought. Same here. As far as iCloud goes, do you have iCloud syncing enabled for everything in the iCloud menu? Specifically, the “Home” app?

I have iCloud settings set up as such,

Do you think having iCloud enabled for “Home” has any negative or positive effect on overall battery life? I know that the Home app stops working entirely if that toggle under the iCloud menu is switched off. I personally don’t use the home app but I’ve been wondering whether that has any effect as it’s tied to HomeKit and prepare other background processes

These are my battery statistics for today on my 2 week old iPhone 15 Pro. It is currently 3:07PM and my battery is at 50% (Unplugged phone from charger at 100% this morning around 6AM)

Been using the phone throughout the day performing numerous actions such as social media browsing on fb, youtube, web browsing in safari, phone calls and SMS Messaging.

Anyone with an iPhone 15 Pro getting better battery life or is this pretty much peak performance?

i think its using some battery “life” but i've been using it for so long i can't tell the difference or it's really very small for me ..From my experience using ios, I can only say that it would be best to turn off the location in general, then use mobile only 4g or 3g, always use low power mode and all visual transitions, then you can expect 12 hours of sot time, but then you can ask yourself - you are losing everything that technology gives you, here's how to buy a new Porsche car, but you put tires from an old prius car ;)

I don’t have a 15 Pro but for a regular pro, not a pro max, I think it’s quite good. Anything above 8h SOT I would consider good on a regular pro iPhone especially if it’s also on LTE/5G.
For comparison, here’s my 13 Pro Max 🤷🏼‍♂️

Keep in mind it used to be 10-12h SOT instead of 5 before iOS 17 so I think you’re good.

ok, this is a very good result and it is likely that such indicators will last until the end of the year, maybe more depends on you and what updates there will be in the future, my new 13Pm two years ago could boast similar results with ios 16

That looks great, it’s pretty similar to what I’d expect from any good battery device since the Xʀ. But yeah, it’ll be that good for perhaps a couple of major updates and then, like always, it will begin to drop.

For now, enjoy it!

Wow, I remain surprised that the best original iOS version device ever has been this obliterated. This looks like something I’d get from an iPhone 6s on a decent iOS version with heavy-ish LTE use, not a 13 Pro Max. This was unthinkable on iOS 15.

I upgraded from my perfectly capable 12 Pro Max to the iPhone 15 Plus for its battery and … 🔫 it sucks since 17.4.X for some reason.

I am using another iPhone (12) from work throughout the day simultaneously. Can you imagine the battery life if I only had the 15 Plus?

I've downgraded my iPhone 15 Plus via IPSW to iOS 17.4.1 (21E236). I had really bad luck with iOS 17.4.1 (21E237)- and now i'm okay after downgrading. It seems that an full install with restore from iTune Backup did some magic.

I’m on the latest 17.4.1 and have absolutely amazing battery life and I have the smaller 15 Pro and not max. Having system services set up right is the key. Do you have all of them enabled or some of them such as significant locations disabled?

I followed the discussion but unfortuntaly there was no "perfect setup" posted when it comes to system services.

I tried to change it on the 21E237 and followed some of those advices- but my iPhone Plus was still draining. Since i moved back to 21E236 my phone is fine.

Right now my setup is basically this, with everything disabled in Product Improvement.
