There is a new patch, I not sure how the battery life. One thing I don't like how the bluetooth works. I actually discover if you turn off from the notch there drag down you can see all those short cut. Whereby you can turn on wifi etc , if you turn bluetooth from there is actually NOT totally turn off in the sense it will auto turn on next day. You have to go setting turn it off. I don't use ear piece thus kinda hate it. One thing always turn on your bluetooth also contribute to drain the battery a bit.

It’s BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and it has negligible impact on your battery which is why most just leave it ON.

The behavior you mentioned has been there for years. You disable Bluetooth or WiFi from the Control Center you just disconnect from new connections and will reenable in a day.

Ok, partly because it been years I never upgrade my iPhone. The previous one which I using is iPhone 7+ , I always update the IOS. The bluetooth is complete turn off from control center. I remember well. Nevertheless than for update me. Well in fact bluetooth always turn on do affect battery life but of course just " slightly only. " I not expert but whereas some claim.

Given that 17.4 seems to have finally fixed the battery drain issues I had been having since 17.0, I’m dubious about installing more updates. I guess I can’t stay on 17.4 forever though

There are some ways to stay on 17.4 and to avoid installing a newer iOS Version in the future. I don't want to get too deep into it (just use Google), but I for example stayed on iOS 15 until January this year on my iPhone 13 Pro.

In the end, you'll will update at one point because iOS is starting to nag you with Popups, Apps won't work with older iOS Versions anymore and so on.

Anyway, I'm now on 17.4.1 with my iPhone 15 Plus and it feels better, not great but better. I think it'll settle in a few days and then it'll be good hopefully.

I haven't had any battery life issues on my devices (13pro, 14, iPadM1 and a handufull of testdevices) since some poor iOS 16 releases and iOS/iPadOS 17.4.1 seems doesn't seem to affect battery performance negatively.
I have recently updated my WiFi network at home from 802.11ac > ax and in theory I should get better battery life with this update. Not sure how much real-life difference it will make.

Battery life on 17.4.1 on 15 PM is doing very well. Usually I'm at 45% if I don't quick charge during the day---the past several days, with no charging I end up around 65% at the end of the day.

Now, if they could fix the crappy battery life on my Apple watch (10.4) that would be great. I used to lose 2%-3% per hour, now I'm losing 5%-8% per hour. I'm trying to determine if 17.4 affects 10.4....

Turning off bluetooth and wi-fi in Control Center on iOS 10 turns them off completely while from iOS 11 and newer, bluetooth and wi-fi are only disconnected but still on... You have to turn it off in Settings instead to turn them off completely...

Just bought a new 15 Pro Max this morning. Obviously I just restored from iCloud so things are indexing in the background etc. But I had a day out in the park taking pictures etc and the battery life was atrocious. I’m hoping it stabilizes after the indexing finishes cause it was abysmal.

What’s “atrocious”? Can you share a screenshot please? (Of settings-battery-last 24 hours).

What system services do you have enabled under Settings > Privacy and Security > Location Services > System Services? Post a screenshot if possible.

A few days have passed since updating to 17.4.1 and the battery life is definitely better on my 15 Pro vs previous versions…. Nothing spectacular but a welcome improvement.
What system services do you have toggled ON/OFF under Settings > Privacy and Security > Location Services > System Services? I've been doing some research and it appears some of the toggles there can have a drastic effect on battery life

Easier to send screenshots. All apps are set to “only when using” or never lol

Thanks for the screenshots, can you please explain why you toggled off/turned off the specific system services that you have off? Also, does significant locations not overly drain the battery?

Also, you do realize that by having system customization off then optimized charging isn’t functional, Right? It’s required to be turned on as per Apple for optimized charging to work.

This is what my battery usage looks like at the moment on my two week old iPhone 15 Pro, is this considered good battery life or below average? My iPhone currently has 29% battery left

I’m sure at some point I came across an article about toggling on/off certain services to help battery life on a previous device, it must’ve carried over when data was transferred over as I haven’t been into that menu since getting my current iPhone.

System customisation being off hasn’t affected its ability to use the charging optimisation 80% limit.

the battery life of my 14PM is very bad on 17.4.x, I've never had battery drain problems before but it's seems like 50% worse. I'm considering installing 17.5 beta as soon as it drops just because of that.

I charged my iPhone overnight and unplugged it around 6AM this morning. These are my battery stats for today on my 2 week old iPhone 15 Pro. Similar usage to as yesterday (Listening/Watching podcasts on YouTube, safari browsing, Mail, some phone calls here and there, SMS..)

It is now 3:53pm and I have 42% battery left. I’m pretty impressed with the battery life thus far. Are you guys getting similar battery life on your 15/15 Pro/Pro Max devices?
