Question: Does Apple replace your battery for free under AppleCare if it reaches 80%, or does it have to go below that to 79% or lower?
Down to 91% health here on my 14 pro. Dev beta 5. 30 minutes on screen time dropped my battery 30% so far this morning. Getting rough but only a month and change to upgrade.

I’ve been at 88% for awhile now, haven’t seen anyone lower than mine lol. Late September 14 pro max.

I’m getting a crazy amount of heat on my 14pro in the back right of the phone (near the volume buttons) and have been for at least the last 3-4 developer seeds. It seems to be the worst in the morning when I wake up. The heat is so bad it’s painful to hold a finger against that spot. I’ve had heat issues with previous betas, but this is noticeably worse. Usually, I’m only browsing the web.

Force rebooting doesn’t fix the issue. I did have AdGuard enabled (via its local vpn) which has its usual beta OS issues, so I just turned it off and the heat stopped. I’ll keep it off to see if these was a correlation between the two.

iPhone is nearly a year old, battery health is 97%.

Om at 87%, and it's probably going down further during a couple of days. Can't wait to get the new iPhone 15 Pro. I'm carrying two magsafe chargers everywhere right now...

My phone has gone from 100% to 95% since running the beta.

Was at 96% yesterday, just did a hard reset to reset an app. Dropped another %

I've been having a similar kind of experience. Dropped from 100/99% to 95% in a month or two, seems to correlate with running the iOS 17 Beta in my opinion.

Which iPhone do you have?

My battery seems to last long enough for me that I done meet to carry an external charger around. I have a fast charger in my car and it keeps me going through that day, I’m still at 88% after installing beta 6 today.

The quickest I’ve seen my battery health go down was after using my MacBook charger to charge it up, so I stopped using that for the phone! 😳

I have the iPhone 14 Pro. I upgrade every year on the launch date. And the crazy thing is that I also use a Galaxy Flip4.

I have never been under 93%, and usually around 95%.

The last year I've started to use a magsafe powerbank, and the fast charger I got with the iPad Mini 6.

I have no idea why the battery decreases so fast, and it's so frustrating that it kind of kills my joy of using the iPhone. I hope it will be better with the iPhone 15 Pro.

7kW?! Whew, I’ll bet the phone gets HOT while charging to full in a few seconds. 😂

Jokes aside, this beta has been much kinder to my 13pro. Still no where as good as iOS 15, but that’s to be expected to some extent. The phone is coming up on two years old and iOS has matured as well. Still wish I got more than 4 hours SOT, but I’ll take it on a beta!

Do you actually just get 4 hours stand on time, or is it a joke. Cause the fact is that I haven't got much more than that myself ☺️

No joke unfortunately. Thats the best I can do with the majority of my day on Wi-Fi. If I’m out and about and using exclusively cellular SOT is lower.

4 hours... on Wi-Fi????!!!

iOS 17 beta obliterated the iPhone 13 then. Let’s hope that the final version is a lot better.

iOS 16 was a lot better I assume?

Looks like I spoke too soon. Not even 3 hours SOT today. 90% of my safari time is spent reading articles or forums so not sure why it took 24% of my battery. I had similar battery life for all of iOS 16 as well. Not really sure what happened after iOS 15 but it was never close to the 7-8 hours back then. But again, with new versions comes new features. It’s all trade offs.

Heat is no longer a recurring issue on this beta for me. And thank goodness. It was 110F (43C) here today. Don’t need any extra sources of heat. 🥵

Based off of some other posters experience, it seems like I’m on the mid to worse end of the spectrum. Hopefully others are experiencing better. Such is the beta life. 👍🏻

It's not exactly taking 24% of your battery. It just shows that of the total amount of battery used, 24% was Safari. Much of that is determined by how much is used everything else.

Regarding SOT and the battery graph in the settings...it doesn't take into account the screen brightness. Does it? A really bright screen seems to eat battery. But again, it's pretty necessary with some degree of screen brightness to see the screen at all.

Brightness not only uses more battery, it’s the #1 usage-independent battery user.

The graph can’t take settings into account, no graph does, but it’s the most important factor, and it should be mentioned more, in my opinion.

Another 1% taken today. Down to 94% now.

100% down to 94% since running the public betas.

Hope it doesn’t go below 90% before I chop my phone in next month!
