I am a little curious to see what happens IF Apple decides to try to fix this... looks like the dev beta is a free-for-all at this point... but if Apple shuts it down and makes it work like they said it would, how many will be left in the limbo of beta 1 forever? :D :D :D

I had that same thought

"IMAP accounts (where the server may be using namespaces, how tf would I know) don't work, as mentioned in the release notes" 😁

But please report and name your ISP / mail host / domain name.
In the mean time, I'm suffering Outlook as a mail client.

Sending mails using Apple Mail still seems to work, which is good as Outlook can't handle multiple email addresses against within account.

Music app is struggling LOL. Interesting how certain things can break despite seemingly little changing. As already reported, selecting crossfade in the settings breaks the music section in the settings app. Crossfade is working, with varying results. Some crashing here and there. Music tends to keep playing, even when force quitting the app.

I think the key word in your post is “seemingly”. We really have no idea how much they have to rejigger in Music. I don't think it helps that I think Music still lives on the decaying foundation of iTunes. If Apple had its own way, I think they would rebuild it from top to bottom. But kinda hard to rebuild the ship when its under weigh.

So they don't update anything in the Mail app (and it's been long due an overhaul) but break IMAP accounts. Insert eye roll here.

I'll reinstall Spark for the time being for those accounts.

Could you be more specific? I am in the process of backing up my iPhone to my Macbook Pro as I type this. Simply plugged in my phone, went to FINDER -> GENERAL and selected BACK UP ALL DATA ON YOUR PHONE TO THIS MAC.

Anything else I am missing? Thank You
If it doesn’t work, there’s a special way to restore to 16 that won’t wipe your data. I haven’t done it in a few years but there’s YouTube videos on it. I remember it being straightforward as long as you down the right IPSW file for your phone

I’m on public beta profile, 16. 6. How can I subscribe to developer beta and install iOS 17?

I cannot see iOS beta profile under VPN and Device management section

It should show up under Settings -> General -> Software Update if you are on the beta...no?

This has been changed and looks pretty nice. Only bug is when using an app this morning, my alarm sounded but the banner wouldn’t show and it dismissed my alarm. The other issue was just needing to adjust a settings for the Standby Mode. And the music settings once crossfade is on. Every app I’ve opened works and I’m not having the SMS issue!

How can I delete beta profile first so taht I can install developer beta profile?
There are no profiles anymore. It was changed to using the software>update section. Later 16.x release removed profiles totally.

It Says over Xcode.

But I don't habe a developer account...
I thought I read somewhere that you don't need one now.... Download Xcode on your mac > connect your phone > and then go in to settings on your phone and you should have a developer section... from there you can enable airpods beta software.

Screen time seems to be broke in Dev beta 1. I can’t get it to update and the widget is also not working. Besides that and the known bugs I’ve had 0 issues. But I probably won’t be sticking with the dev beta. I’ll probably wait until the public bests appear. This update is cool but except for the major changes this seems very similar to iOS 16…. Since no one else I know is using iOS 17 if does not yet seem worth it since the stuff I want to try cannot function.
