Another instance of my Earth lockscreen being squished up into the right corner. Doesn’t seem to like the new standby mode.

Has anyone noticed when using Standby that their wallpaper gets locked in landscape mode and to "fix" it, you have to reset the wallpaper again? No other issues whatsoever though.

You can do both.

Swipe from the left edge of the screen allows you to go back to the main screen.

Swiping on a message from the other person is the reply function.

I can easily swipe from the edge of the screen left of the message from the other person and it goes back to main screen.
Odd. Not working on mine. It only has reply function. Swiping from outside of screen, edge, on screen all results in reply. Ok. Reporting it as bug.

I just encountered a bug in the battery widget. A restart fixed the problem.

Disappearing apps.

This is so bizarre. My eBay keeps disappearing from my Home Screen. So you’d think it’s in the app library… nope. It’s completely deleted itself.

I’m trying to note things or combinations of doing things that make it disappear. 3 x times this happened. By far the oddest thing to happen on a beta.

I can a couple more apps have gone from folders but can’t remember what they are. 👻

1. was it definitely charging (as per battery report)?
2. was it processing your personal voice? That took about 2 days for me
2. Curious, why are you using this? Just to hear yourself?

Edit: I just found it goes to the other person.

I wonder if the failed iMessage issue is a backend issue because the same thing occurred while a 12P - 16.5 tried sending to 14P - ios17. The sender got a failed send and it was indicating via SMS. The 14P did receive the messages though.

I’ve only so far seen reports of the sender being on ios17. It’s interesting a 16.5 sender had the same issue.
I believe it’s an underlying issue with the SMS protocol on iOS17. That would/could affect either direction which sounds like that’s what’s happening. (You have an iOS17 device in your example). No one without 17 seems to having issues.

I found a weird little obscure bug on my 14PM.... On my contact card I have my work number set up and I created a poster for myself.... I tried calling my phone from my work number to see what the poster looks like.... But I wasn't able to see any incoming call notification.... The phone was vibrating and and there was a little grey phone on the Dynamic Island, but I wasn't able to click anywhere and pick up the call.

I was however able to pick it up on my watch running WatchOS 10..... I submitted to Apple... But thats a quirky one that I'm sure most won't experience since folks don't call their own phones.

I'm thinking the issue is related to the poster interface somehow.

Posters work fine for me on incoming and outgoing call. 13 pro here.

This may actually explain (some) why different users have varying experiences with these betas ....
Something I really didn't consider in any depth.

Just received my new iPad Pro 11 4th gen. I also have an iPad Pro 11 2nd gen. Both WiFi. Both on iPadOS 17.

Some things I found
  • Volume buttons are different. New is reversed and they scale sound differently
  • AirPods Pro 1&2 sound different on both.
  • Keyboard haptics - older is light while newer is heavier. Don't like either.
  • Lockscreen same info, info is displayed in different sizes - like the newer iPad stuff is scaled
  • Control center same info looks different -one has an advert for Home app
  • App Library folders are in different order
  • Apple Maps opens in different scales
  • Apple Maps information in bar is different - new has more Recents, old has more Favorites
  • Google Maps opens in the same scale and locations but the items displayed are different.
They are setup the same with the same apps and I am doing a side by side before I wipe my old.
I was surprised with the same setup, how different they really do run and how different the information is.
I can see this happening not only across devices and models but also countries.
Also why some have issues and others can't see it.
  • Volume buttons changing based on orientation has been an option I think since iPadOS15, but now it's the default
  • You almost certainly have different scaling settings on the two iPads, with the one with smaller stuff using the "More Space" option in Settings
  • App Library folders change order based on use, so they're never in the same place, even on the same device

Maybe... 🧐

1. both ipads are on 17 with the same settings and the 4th gen volume is reversed from the 2nd gen buttons in landscape. Both are the same in portrait.
2. Scaling is set to default on both.
3. Cool - I did not know that. You can tell how much I interact with the App Library. Like none. :)

Appreciate the feedback 👍

Yep, I mentioned it’s happened to me over the past couple of days. Yesterday I rebooted to fix; today I just switched wallpapers and right back and it was resolved.

Does rebooting fix or do you have to install from the App Store each time?

I saw someone mention this morning that they had heard it was affecting someone on 16.5.

What could possibly be? It happened when I opened Mail. I don't remember seeing up a shortcut in Mail.

I haven’t had any notable issues except turning on ‘Crossfade’ in the Music settings won’t let me access the Music settings anymore.

Also, while listening to the Music app with my AirPods Pro 2, the volume does not go up at all even with volume slider at max. Anybody having said issue? I also notice the volume slider slides back down on its own.
I am having another issue with AirPods Pro 2 on the beta. For some reason the overall quality of the sound is noticeably worse compared to iOS 16. The only fix I found to improve it, was to turn off completely Spatialise Stereo.

Were you by chance listening to a podcast or other voice programming? Or music? Yesterday I determined that a podcast had significantly degraded sound quality while on spatial audio. However, music was just fine.

Yes but the 16.5 device was sending to an iOS 17 device. So 17 was involved in the mix.
