iOS 17 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I noticed this to on both my 13 and 13 mini running iOS 17. I thought I was going crazy! Between that and the fail to send text message bug on both phones I have since reverted back to 16.5. All is very smooth now. What I really miss from iOS 17 is the speech to text improvements.
Running iPadOS beta on 3rd gen iPad Pro.
Anyone else getting general freezing or slow response? Websites slow to load and some ‘clicks’ just don’t react. Feels like memory issues but not sure if it is the beta or just this iPad?
P.S Yes I know betas have bugs, just asking to understand if this is one that needs reporting.

Seeing similar on iPad Pro 11 Gen2 but not on iPad Pro 11 Gen4.
Running Amazon.com side by side and there is a very noticeable difference.
Update - here is another, this site amaof - the red left to right at screen top jsut keeps going until I kill the tab. Doesn’t seen to affect anything.
Update2 - and while checking the attachment, it atrted again. 😂😂😂

Have a couple of shortcuts that just open an app - it allows me to assign a custom icon - and I get an apparent springboard crash on open. Bugger.
I also have another SC that opens a specific Note. Now it opens the Note then closes back to the Note menu.
Going to dig a bit more before I report it.

I’ve seen sluggish websites a couple of times on my 11” iPad Pro 2018. Hard to pinpoint exactly what I was doing when the slowness started but it was like you mentioned— web elements not responding to clicks, slow loading.. just overall feeling like the iPad was doing a sh*t ton in the background or something.
I ended up rebooting and it went back to normal. If I can find a sure-fire way to reproduce it I’ll definitely be submitting a report.
When connected to CarPlay, Apple Music plays through phone’s speakers instead of the car’s. I haven’t had the chance to test this behavior with other audio apps yet.
What new dynamic island interactions have people noticed? So far I’ve seen the alarm clock use it, unlocking my Apple Watch and also if you disable mobile data the error message now uses the dynamic island.
The unlocking my AW is a pita.
13PM does not have the Dynamic Island but the alert displays at the top of my screen in that layout covering more of the screen than the cutout and hanging around for far too long.
btw - spell check is apparently no better than it used to be
Sometimes they send instantly for me, other times there’s a delay then a sort of confirmation tone before Siri acknowledges the message/reply was sent.
A bit of the occasional miss here and there, but the b1 for the AirPods Pro 2 with Adaptive Noise Control and the Conversational Awareness is JUST ABOUT absolute witchcraft.
Absolutely. Biggest update ever to the AirPods line. Going to sell a lot of APP2
I have not had any issues with VPN over cellular on my iPhone or iPad. Private relay off for both devices.
Thanks for this comment. I thought I was doing alright with DB1 battery usage until I realized Spark had been running in the background for over 80 hours on my iPhone and over 100 hours on my iPad since I installed DB1 on Monday afternoon. That's wild.
MyRadar also seems to be running in the background excessively. I went ahead and removed the widget.

Using Proton VPN with Secure Core turned off. Secure Core on slows things down a lot.

The whole upper row including time, signal, wifi, and battery.. all missing.
On lock screen and home screen.

I’ve had it on and am not seeing any battery hit. Good question, I also wonder how it does it. It’s been diligent and catching me every time, too (after maybe 60 seconds of holding it too close).
TrueDepth camera is always ON (when the display is ON) since it was first introduced. It’s what enables Attention Aware features like the Alarm turning down the volume soon as you look at the screen etc. Any overhead from the new code would be insignificant.
That they add the animations to my iPhone 13 pro, as I have seen in the shortcuts app, it seems fine to me.
I don't know if placing the "Cancel" and "Ok" on both sides of the notch when you edit a photo in the gallery has to do with this or not. In any case, instead of making it easier to use, what they do is make it more difficult, because before everything was within reach and now it isn't.
