Has anyone had a phantom call. Literally at 0100 my phone was locked, on charge on my bedside table everyone was asleep but my phone dialled 911 (I’m in the UK so not even the right number) I was woke up by the sound of a voice coming through my HomePod (also on ios17 beta) which I ended the call but have now got the police coming round to check nothing suspicious going on

Do you have an Apple Watch you may have worn to bed? And possibly struck on a bedside table or something else that might have triggered a fall detection?

I'm really not a fan of the change in CarPlay Maps regarding exit numbers. the black box in the upper left corner now only displays distance remaining, and the exit number and street name are only displayed on the blue route line. I find this difficult to see at a quick glance since the blue portion could be in a different part of the screen every time. I submitted feedback asking that exit number and street name be moved back to the black box in the corner.

These aren't the most demonstrative screenshots, but I've had a few instances of the exit/street name being off in a corner. Don't worry, a passenger took these screenshots for me.

Did you know that you can take these screenshots yourself by simply activating CarPlay Siri and saying “screenshot?”

Ha I worked at an  retail store for almost a year and one of coworkers who was a tech specialist was deathly afraid to put the iOS 16 beta on her phone when that came out. There were a few of use there running it on our phones.

The Genius Bar specialists want to spread that FUD because they would be the ones having to deal with beta issues LOL. Even though there’s no official support for phones on beta people would still come in and complain.
That’s what I expressed. The technical specialists testing software even lists having a beta installed as a malfunction!

Okay I have my new iPad and I am slowly working it up towards iPadOS 17. I have discovered that there’s something that I am embarrassed that I don’t know. What are the two switches that light up below the line in the upper right corner? I just know that one of you ( probably all of you) will know but sadly I don’t know!😭

It’s just a visual indicator to let you know/remind you control center is there

I have submitted feedback for this as well. It’s not even sporadic it’s 100% consistent. I have 4 devices I’m running the beta on, one on Verizon, two on AT&T and one on T-Mobile. All four behave the exact same way. The time-out period is hit or miss but using airplane mode then closing and reopening Messages resolves the issue. It’s a frustrating workaround because of the rapid pace most of my communications tend to be. I’ve sent so many messages and media based reports/information through text message inadvertently. Doesn’t help that text message based media has been broken since iOS 15
I submitted a feedback on this but didn’t notice it was tied to making a phone call

Hope we get a new beta soon, my 13 PM it’s getting buggy, unresponsive and slow, even hard restarts doesn’t help, also the watch (s7) is similar, both with bad battery life. And now my phone gets hot in the morning, at the first days of the beta was getting fine like always, it’s since the last 3 days that is getting crazier.

Keyboard changes color in 3 keys, a restart help.
General slowness, hot almost all the time with no mayor app consuming battery, poor battery life, you cannot do math equations on spotlight, camera clicks when focus in video some times in 1 some times un 3, just video and not video from photo.

On the watch the numbers dance with every glance LOL (weather numbers, UV index, the rings numbers)

I have an interesting problem with my iPhone 14 Pro and IOS 17. I currently use T-Mobil 5G and Wi-Fi. Whenever I leave my home and travel in my car, the phone is supposed to switch to 5G because the Wi-Fi is too far away as I am driving. However, when on 5G, I can place a voice call with no problem. BUT, when I go and do data transfers like getting my messages or accessing my ADT security, or other uses like getting music from the net, it stalls. No data is coming through on 5G. However, turning my phone on again seems to fix itself. I have to turn Wi-Fi off in settings though. I talked with T-Mobil Tech Support and they say my phone when going to 5G thinks it is still connected to Wi-Fi even though 5G is showing in the upper right corner of my phone screen. This has only started happening after I upgraded to IOS 17 Beta 1. I checked all my settings under cellular in the Settings app and they seem fine. Has anyone experienced this and if so have you got a workaround without having to restart the phone?
