But there should be a setting that says “when changing the start time of a meeting…”

And then give options that say “change the end time” or “keep the end time as is”
I get wanting options for every combination, but I can say from many instances of improper (or just needing to change) meeting/event times, the way Apple has it implemented makes the most sense for me. And it’s similar functionality via Google and Microsoft calendars as well. If you’re changing the start time, the “assumption“ is that the duration is likely still intended to be the same; if you’re changing the end time, you’re likely adding to or shortening the meeting. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I don’t know, man… this is one that usually works out in my favor when I’m using it. Put the feedback in; more options rarely hurt.

iOS 17 beta 1 is very stable. The battery life is pretty good too. I’m very surprised it’s this good being only on beta 1. Next week we shall be seeing beta 2. Highly recommend upgrading! Don’t miss out on it. 🍃 🍀

Beta 1 is pretty solid, but that's no guarantee that there won't be a hiccough along the way — there usually is "that one" release. Not putting it on my daily driver for at least a couple more iterations - maybe around beta 4 or 5. Obviously, YMMV.

Yes that seems to be the case for most.

Also may want to try a "reset all settings" first. Easier than a full on blow out and will a lot of times resolve strange issues and it pretty painless. Plus if it is some accessibility setting you are using as mentioned this will reset that to default as well. Worth a shot to know if you need a replacement or not IMO.
I took your advice and did a reset settings. It seems better but we will have to give it time to see if it fixes it. I also checked on my accessibility features and they are all turned off.
Thanks for the help.

@TheYayAreaLiving 🎗️ I just had to show you the current data in our favorite app. The correct number for our temperature is 89 degrees. Look at what the weather app says.

Ummm…that’s the Celsius equivalent.

I assume you have it set to Fahrenheit and if so it’s showing Celsius improperly. But the actual temps are correct.
I was gonna suggest as such, but I’m mainly fluent in Freedom Units… you know, football fields, bananas, etc.

You win the lottery for this one. When I did the reset settings, they changed a number of things and didn’t tell me in the setup app. One of them was nationality, which they changed to world. That makes everything show up in Celsius.

I have a camera in HomeKit. I just realised I can watch the video on the Lock Screen from the notification. Is this new in iOS 17 or was it there in iOS 16? If it’s not new I can’t believe I didn’t notice this before.

Edit: I guess I just never noticed it. I searched and its not new.

Is there a fix for text messages failing to send? iMessage works fine but sending to an android doesn't work.

Everyone has pretty much been reporting that the message goes thru even tho a "failed to send" comes back. Both my iPhone 13 and 13 mini are acting this way. At least the messages go thru.

Does anyone use a tracker blocker similar to Lockdown Privacy? It drains battery in the background quite a bit, even though I have all Background App Refresh turned off. It acts as a VPN and they claim there could be battery drain if a rogue app tries to constantly access the internet but is blocked by Lockdown. However, when I check its log, nothing is being blocked during the battery drain.

Any alternative tracker blockers out there?
Hi @Brad7 , try taking a look at the “Show Battery Usage” view as it shows the % battery usage whisk might give you a different perspective. In my case I use Proton VPN explicitly to block ads. It is also the #2 battery drain behind Safari for me, but it only uses 11% of the battery. Well worth it for me!

Hey, good point, and I’ll check out Proton, thank you!

Has anyone tried sending an iMessage either during a phone call or shortly afterwards? For a short while after I hang up my Messages app reverts to sending text messages. I use Xfinity Mobile which I believe uses Verizon towers. I will send a Feedback.
I have submitted feedback for this as well. It’s not even sporadic it’s 100% consistent. I have 4 devices I’m running the beta on, one on Verizon, two on AT&T and one on T-Mobile. All four behave the exact same way. The time-out period is hit or miss but using airplane mode then closing and reopening Messages resolves the issue. It’s a frustrating workaround because of the rapid pace most of my communications tend to be. I’ve sent so many messages and media based reports/information through text message inadvertently. Doesn’t help that text message based media has been broken since iOS 15

So I turned off the firewall and all my background drain went away. Kinda sad to see, I wish there was a more battery-friendly alternative because I loved the tracker/domain blocking.

What did you turn off exactly? I’m experiencing quite a lot of battery drain while idle. I know, it’s a beta and I shouldn’t expect great battery life. But if there is a (temporary) solution that would be nice :)
