I haven't found a straight answer to this, so maybe someone here knows. Can you use live wallpaper on the lock screen with the photo shuffle or just with one photo on the lock screen?

For those who are following my issues with my iPhone display, I took it to the Apple Store and had a genius run the tests. They said that they think it’s the beta, even though it has been doing it for several months now. They want me to reset to a fresh version of the current iOS. I don’t know if I want to do all of that.
What do you think?

As I already mentioned, as the bug shows up in the screenshot, it's 100% software. And I think it's related to the accessibility features you are using. I'm sure that once you reset and start fresh, it will all work well. It's a hassle but without doing that I'm afraid you're stuck. You can also try turning off the accessibility settings you're using first.

In my case I have two languages on the keyboard, English and Spanish, both predictive texts work perfectly...

Spanish tends to be on the top list of languages to include, which makes sense as it's the second most spoken language in the world, above English. I don't expect Scandinavian languages to be top-priority. That doesn't make any logistical sense. But not having support for Scandinavian languages in iOS 17 with the improvements to the keyboard is just sad. As I said, both Google and Microsoft were able to figure out this like eight years ago.

My understanding is that the message still gets sent, it just gets erroneously flagged as undelivered.
Yes that seems to be the case for most.

Also may want to try a "reset all settings" first. Easier than a full on blow out and will a lot of times resolve strange issues and it pretty painless. Plus if it is some accessibility setting you are using as mentioned this will reset that to default as well. Worth a shot to know if you need a replacement or not IMO.

Going to Airplay in settings and turning off automatic handover to home pod seems to have fixed the microphone problems I was experiencing. Phone calls, Voice memo, and video recording with sound now seem to be working.

Is anyone having trouble with volume control on the phone? Sometimes I can hit the side buttons to control volume, and then a minute later the side buttons have no control over the volume. I have to restart the phone to be able to control volume again.
Yep, having lots of this.

Not iOS per se, but I bumped the action button on my watch this morning and couldn’t turn the flashlight back off.

Had to restart and when I went to turn the watch back on I had the thing where it’s off but still showing crucial info, the clock in simple white font in this case.

I’m also not sure what view I’m supposed to have with ”Earth Detail” but I really liked the first one while it was there.

So this isn't necessarily a bug but a little interesting find. In iOS sending to an Android you get the green bubble as expected but, looking at the same text using MacOS Sonoma, there's a "Read" message indicator. New? Anyone else notice this? Maybe it'll be coming to iOS17?

ZolleTech has posted a new video. + Feature-Packed Edition!

Watched it already 👍...I am tempted to switch to iOS 17 and after watching this video I am seriously considering to update from 16 beta 🚂.

I usually wait until mid of August to get the iOS more sorted out, but after reading this thread end to end, I can live with most of the bugs mentioned here. I probably wait for b2 and see if it would not go south as it usually do and then decide if I will switch or stay on 16

iOS 17 beta 1 is very stable. The battery life is pretty good too. I’m very surprised it’s this good being only on beta 1. Next week we shall be seeing beta 2. Highly recommend upgrading! Don’t miss out on it. 🍃 🍀

Does anyone use a tracker blocker similar to Lockdown Privacy? It drains battery in the background quite a bit, even though I have all Background App Refresh turned off. It acts as a VPN and they claim there could be battery drain if a rogue app tries to constantly access the internet but is blocked by Lockdown. However, when I check its log, nothing is being blocked during the battery drain.

Any alternative tracker blockers out there?
So I turned off the firewall and all my background drain went away. Kinda sad to see, I wish there was a more battery-friendly alternative because I loved the tracker/domain blocking.

This isn’t an iOS 17 specific problem, but just a pet peeve of mine in general of iOS. I hate when, if you accidentally create a calendar event with the incorrect start time and you try to edit it later, it changes the end time too. Yet when you try to change the end time, it doesn’t change the start time (which is the way it should behave when editing the start time). Is there a setting to stop this from happening that I’m missing?

If you really think about it, it makes sense the way they do it as changing the start time assumes the “meeting” is still the same length of time, not necessarily shortened.

They had to pick one way…and their way makes the most sense for the vast majority of appointments/meetings.

But there should be a setting that says “when changing the start time of a meeting…”

And then give options that say “change the end time” or “keep the end time as is”

So, what happens if you have an hour long meeting starting at 9 am and you change the start time to 11 am instead of say 9:30 am?

Then it’ll do the same thing it already does when you try to make the start time later than the end time, it crosses it out and doesn’t let you select it. Easy.

One thing I was surprised about on Thursday during my visit to the Apple Store is that we have more faith in the beta than all of the Apple employees do. They think it’s like if you put the beta on your phone you should just expect that nothing is going to work. It’s totally better than that!!😊😊
