Apple's beta software have been surprisingly very stable this year. I took the risk of updating all my daily devices to their respective 17 betas and aside from some performance hiccups every now and then, which also unfortunately would occur even in stable versions of last year's software, and battery drainage, which can be expected at this stage, they are running really well. I have only come across some small user facing bugs and that is amazing, considering these are only the very first betas. I am really impressed and believe things can only get better from now on. That being said, some of the issues are still present. Notification Center is still a mess. I really hope they will fix it until public release.

What iPhone do you have? Did it impact the performance of the battery a lot? I have 13PM and the battery yields 60% of what I did before.

I have the 13. I can say effect on battery is almost the same as yours, maybe a bit worse. I was seeing a whole day with normal usage (I use CarPlay to and from work so it is being charged on the go) but now it is noticeably worse, though it's gotten better after the initial indexing. Still iOS is not as bad as iPadOS and watchOS betas in terms of juicing.

For those who are following my issues with my iPhone display, I took it to the Apple Store and had a genius run the tests. They said that they think it’s the beta, even though it has been doing it for several months now. They want me to reset to a fresh version of the current iOS. I don’t know if I want to do all of that.
What do you think?

Surprised they even ran tests when on a beta. Usually they refuse.

Do you want a new phone? Take a full backup, restore to stock and assuming the screen is still wonky take it to the Apple store. You can put the beta back and restore your backup on your new phone.

Your alternative is to see if a later beta fixes it (unlikely, if as you say this started during iOS 16) or wait until iOS 17 is out of beta and get it replaced then.

I would do it. Not that difficult and worth it if it’s the hardware that’s the issue.

It won't work.

Turning on cross-fade breaks that page, so it won't open however you try and sneak your way into it :)

Either "reset all settings" or wait for B2.

And report it. Even if Apple is already aware of it (they are), the additional data helps.

Amazing how they simply brought no updates to the Mail app but yet managed to introduce bugs into it. I have my IMAP accounts turned off right now for the Mail app (and forwarded to iCloud Mail as I can't be using two Mail apps, didn't work for me).

Extremely disappointed to see that the new and improved autocorrect and predictive text are not adding additional languages to the list of supported languages. Apple is already way behind Google (Gboard), and Microsoft (SwiftKey) on this topic. How hard can it be to get a more complete list of supported languages? Everyone else has been able to do this for years now.

I'm accustomed to Apple being slow regarding supporting features on a global scale. They seem highly English/US-first, then add everything else over time. It was the same with Siri on the HomePod and Apple TV. Even though Siri on iOS has supported Scandinavian languages for years, Siri on HomePod and Apple TV didn't until late-2022 for whatever reason.

It's been the same with the iOS keyboard. But with them going "next-generation" on the keyboard with iOS 17, it's baffling to see that most languages don't even have the previous generation of predictive text/suggestions or the new. Hopefully, this improves with coming BETA updates, but I highly doubt it. I can't recall features getting additional languages during a BETA cycle before.

One can't use third-party keyboards either. Unless you want to live with limitations such as your third-party keyboard disappearing when entering passwords, third-party keyboards are not allowed to integrate with password managers either. Hence, you lose the capability of auto-filling passwords and 2FA/MFA. Extremely annoying.

I tried to set "Crossfade" in settings---music---crossfade and I was knocked out of Apple Music settings and it will not allow me back in---settings closes as soon as I click on "music settings". Anyone else?

Can you imagine how good you would have felt if you would read this thread? Its one of the most reported bugs since early pages. 😉
I was waiting for a reply like this---Yeah, like I'm supposed to read every single post while I'm reading through the unsupported "ventura" Mac threads, IOS threads, the TVOS, Ipad OS and numerous threads and other websites on my cars, Car play, news, work, etc----also, having a family life. work and so forth. Why even bother replying. I see other people doing the same thing BECAUSE THEY HAVE A LIFE! Jeez, just ignore it then....

In my case I have two languages on the keyboard, English and Spanish, both predictive texts work perfectly...

This is the fourth day with the iOS 17 beta and battery performance is my only problem. It is not associated with any application apparently, I do not see strange consumption. The battery lasts 60-70% of what it used to last. Let's see what happens with beta 2, (I hope it's next week?)

Haha don’t take it too personal bro, I was just teasing you a bit. Somebody has been mentioning resetting settings could help but other then that I thing you have to wait for b2. But seriously, its posted so often that even reading couple pages would save you some trouble. And this is coming from a guy with kids, dog, job and hobbies as well. Peace ✌️ 😉

And that’s exactly why I didn’t say that. Too many pages for anyone to keep up with. Later betas, sure, that’s a valid response.

Nah, you just search the thread for crossfade instead.

Probably would have saved you the time of typing the question out 🫠
